Trash The Dress ideas!

So at first I was against trashing my dress, but the more I started to think about it, I'm never going to need it again and I realized I don't need to destroy it, so now I need ideas!
My thoughts are that because I do live along the Mississippi we can go to a 'sand bar' and get some pics of us standing in the water and on the 'beach' and we also have a small waterfall behind my old college that would be beautiful to stand in front of!
Does anyone have any other ideas that don't require destroying the dress? I don't mind getting it a little dirty as we will pay to have it professionally cleaned!

Well, I'm glad you aren't going to totally destroy it! It always breaks my heart to see a wedding gown on fire or covered in paint (especially when it could be donated...think back to those destroyed Priscilla of Boston dresses).

The ideas you have suggested are great. Do you have any hobbies or interests you could incorporate into the shoot? Knowing a little more about you/what you do might help with suggestions.

I agree with PP, do you have hobbies that could be tied in? I have a friend where her and her DH met through a soccer league so they have pictures of her running playing soccer in the dress. All she got was a few grass stains that the dry clearner took out no problem.

I can't even fathom doing this in my dress, its my mother's so I'd be too paranoid, but maybe with my reception dress?

Im short on ideas but Ive been contemplating taking my dress on our honeymoon and taking pictures by the water (not in) and around the edge of the jungle that the resort borders. Were getting married at our reception location so our picture background is limited to the grounds of the venue and I want more interesting and unique pics. The resort has photogs so that may be what were doing. Im just nervous about traveling with the dress!

Don't be nervous about travelling with the dress, DW brides do it ALL the time

Here are some pointers from brides on the DW board:

- If you have access to a seamstress in the area to steam the dress on arrival to take out any wrinkles, put it in a space bag and have it compressed down, it fits perfectly in your luggage without worries

- Don't hesitate to stress its your wedding dress, most airlines will hang it in the captains closet for you if they find out that's what it is

- Make sure the suitbag/bag you put over it for travel covers the bottom of the dress, often brides miss this and the bottom gets dirty in travel (as you move it it can be too low and brush the ground easily)

I don't know if I could trash my dress but I love his work!

I'm thinking of having pics of me in spin class or working out; maybe doing yoga. I'd love one of me hanging out on the dock at the cottage lol

I decided on the red sash because my dancing shoes, the flats I picked up for when I do shed my gorgeous red heels, are black lol

Hey ladies thanks for the input so far! I don't really have hobbies other than reading and watching tv shows! haha, i'm a homebody more than anything, but I do kind of like the idea of taking my dress on our honeymoon! We are thinking St. Lucia as of right now and those would be some gorgeous pictures!

We do like four-wheelers and i'm sure we could get some fun shots with that!
