Happy Passover!!

Happy Passover to those ladies who celebrate.

Anyone planning on having Matzoh soup?  DH is so excited to have Matzoh ball soup he went to work early.






What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

    While I do not celebrate Passover, I really do appreciate a good bowl of Matzo Ball Soup.

    Same here...but I do have matzoh meal in my cabinet at home, maybe I will make some tonight!

    I do not celebrate Passover either but I love me some matzo ball soup.  Love it!

    I was talking to a friend of mine and told her how much I *loved* passover food. So she invited me to a seder she and her boyfriend are having tonight. I'm excited!

    I'm supposed to bring wine...I figure the guys at the wine store can help me figure out what kind to get (even though she doesn't usually keep kosher I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to bring kosher wine).

    What should I wear? My wardrobe is pretty limited these days, and it's either something pretty casual (jeans or khakis and a casual sweater), or a dress with tights and boots. Thoughts?

    I used to be at my friend's house for Hanukah, Passover, everything (my parents worked late.  She always used to tell me, as long as your shoulders are covered and the top isn't too low cut, everything else is fine.  The shoulders thing is really a rule for going to temple but her grandfather was very conservative.

    I would err on the side of a dress w/tights and boots.  This is a pretty big High Holy Holiday (I think, again ,I don't celebrate)

    I would dress conservatively.   And yes bring Kosher wine.  Most liquor stores carry it.

    DH is cooking Seder for 6 or more families.. It's so cute.  All the wives are 'fighthing' for DH to be the one cooking in their room.   DH is actually cooking for all of them, but only one gets him in the actual room, the others are deliveried via room service.

    I'd wear the dress wtih tights and boots. In my family, we always dress for Passover -- dresses or skirt outfits for the women, suits (with ties) for men. It's a pretty big-deal holiday.

    Definitely ask about the kosher wine at the liquor store -- some of the wines are quite good now. We actually had our sedar last night for a variety of reasons and the pinot grigio and shiraz tasted like any other good wine.
