DIY pocket wedding invites?

Has anyone made their own pocket invitations?? I can't seem to find anything I like in a burgundy color, and am now debating making my own. If you did make your own, was it difficult/expensive? I just don't want to get in over my head. Thanks!!

My friend, a graphic designer, made a mock-up of a DIY pocketfold for me. She took two 8.5x10 sheets and overlapped 1/3 of it to make 3 panels. Then she exacto-knifed some extra sheets to create the pocketfold and glued them down. I have the "blue print" in pdf; if you want it, PM me your e-mail.

My overall impression is that it's not hard. But you'll need a team to help you. The cost for a pocketfold on a website like Cards and Pockets is not that much in my opinion ($0.80/ea for their signature product). You already have to design your invitation, which is a lot on your plate already, so I personally would just buy it and not go through too much manual labor.

I priced them out when I got married and found it was worth it to just buy them. I did some comparison shopping and we got these:

I don't remember exactly where we got them from, but it was under $250. I did print our own direction/accomodation card as well.

BTW, I was at WalMart and they had a print your own pocketfold on clearance. I don't see the clearance on the website, but what the do have:

Keep in mind though that the square ones do cost extra to mail.
