NWR: Apartments between Cincinnati and Dayton?

Hi ladies! Sorry to jump in here since I never post, but I need your help! My FI and I are finally moving in together. He works in Dayton and I go to school at UC, so we're looking for something roughly in the middle, or at least less than an hour for both of us. Do you have any recommendations?

We were looking in Franklin/Middletown (and it's still our top choice), but a friend told us it was unsafe. We like Springboro but couldn't find anything. West Chester has some gorgeous apartments but it'd be an hour drive for FI, and he thinks that's too far. I didn't expect this to be so difficult!

Franklin and Middletown aren't necessarily unsafe, you just need to watch what areas you are in. There are plenty of nice parts of town, especially if you keep to the east side of I-75.

Have you checked out Monroe at all? That area is completely booming and there are probably new things popping up.

OK, thanks! We'll check out the east side.
We didn't find anything for Monroe online, but we drive past it all the time - we'll look in there too!

My FI and I are in the same situation... so we're moving to Mason (30 minutes to UC, 40 minutes to the northern side of Dayton).  It's a really nice suburban area.

julialynnjones - do you mind me asking what apartment complexes in Mason you think are good? (We haven't looked there at all, we thought it was too far off the highway - but now I definitely want to consider it!)

You could try looking into Four Seasons Apartments:

Or if you don't need to move right away, there is a new apartment complex called Palmera that will be finished with construction this October:

    Good luck!

I took a job in Dayton last summer and refused to move there at first, so I moved to West Chester.  It's about a 35-45 minute commute from my apt at the Union Centre exit to where I work, which is 5 min off the Edwin C. Moses Blvd exit (near UD).  The commute on 75 gets old on some days with the construction, but overall, it hasn't been too bad.  Good luck! :)
