knottie list addition!

Hi! My name is Vanessa and my wedding will be on August 11, 2012! I've been reading these boards for a while now, looking for tips (especially as I'm planning the wedding from 6 hours away), and thought I should make myself known! Happy planning everyone! :)

Welcome!!  Give us more!  Where are you having your ceremony and reception?  Have you chosen any other vendors yet?  What colors are you looking to use?

These ladies can be a great resource.  I think I saved a bundle in some areas because of their suggestions!  Now I'm just an old married hag that still lingers around here... Wink  Good luck with the planning!

    Thanks for the welcome!! :)

Ceremony: St. Aloysius in Bowling Green

Reception: Electrical Industrial Building or Mt. Vernon Room at Parkway (pending negotiations)

Photography: pretty sure K&D Photography after seeing good reviews on here and their prices

DJ: pretty sure Decorative Sound after seeing reviews on here and speaking with him on the phone

Cake: no idea yet, suggestions welcome

Flowers: no idea yet, suggestions desperately needed (I know NOTHING about flowers, except they're pricey and I don't care a whole lot about them, so really looking for a deal here)

Colors: some shade of blue is all we have so far

I used Sharry at Sharry's Touch for my florist and was beyond thrilled with her work and her prices.  Her contact number is 419-866-5045.  She works out of her home and takes so much pride in what she does.  I got my bridal bouquet, 3 BM bouquets, 6 bouts, 5 corsages, toss bouquet, petals to line the aisle, vases to hold the bouquets at the reception, and rented a birdcage to hold the cards.  She delivered everything and my total was under $300.  Pics are in bio if you're interested.

I know that Lynn at Polynn Flowers has also received great reviews on here for her work and her prices.  I did not meet with her, so I can't help much.  I believe that fellow knottie abbeylynne chose her as the florist and could probably offer more details if you're interested.

Oh my gosh, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! :D Under $300 for all that?! I will DEFINITELY be calling her!

We are having 8 stand up on each side plus a flower girl and ring bearer. And of the packages I've seen browsing online, I thought I was going to end up paying like $1500 for flowers! But I'm much more hopeful now after hearing about Sharry! :)

Since you don't care that much about the flowers anyway, you should ask about silk flowers.  The higher quality ones really look quite good now.  Some people say that this saves then a lot, other people say that the savings really isn't there.  It would definitely be worth comparing though!  It's also nice to be able to save your bouquet too!

Above is my florist. I love her :)

This is my cake lady.  She is great and very nice!

After my wedding (in a month, EEEK) I can give you a better review.

Welcom, congrats, and best of luck :)
