Tipping for caterer?

We're doing our menu tasting this week with the caterer, and we weren't sure if we were expected to tip.   What did you all do?

    We didn't.  I honestly didn't even think of it.  The food was brought out by the chef and the owner though, so maybe that is why it didn't occur to me.

    I guess it depends on the situation - if you have a separate server person, then it would probably be appropriate to tip.

    We didn't either. I'd never even thought of it. I just assumed that they were giving me a sales job and that I didn't need to tip them for finding out about what they offered.
