How to arrange the napkins at the table?

I know this is just a detail in the whole grande scheme of things, but what is the more elegant or sophisticated table arrangement for the napkins? I am not looking for anything trendy. I'd like to look at the pictures 10 years from now and still think the style was classy.

My venue gives me many choices. We can get it folded on top of the plate in an arrangement, we can have it stuffed in the wine glasses, we can have them lie flat plainly next to the silverware, we can have them in a fan shape in front of the plate, etc. I don't know which to choose!

I personally hate them stuffed in glasses. HATE that. I'd go for having them lie flat next to the silverware. I think the 2 other options look outdated.

I like what I've seen with the very simple fold with the menu tucked into it. Not a shape, not a fan - just sitting on the plate, with a little "pocket," for lack of a better word, for the menu.

I would lie them flat next to the silverware. I hate the napkin-stuffed-in-glass and fanned napkin looks.

I totally agree. It reminds me of a bad 80s couch or bedspread. Especially if they're that dusty rose color.
