Multiple Dinner Choices

We're having 3 different dinner choices for our wedding. A meat/chicken, a vegetarian, and a children's dinner. Now, we've done the whole respond card with the different choices so our guest can choose which one they prefer. But my question is how will the reception hall/caterer know exactly what meal to serve to what guest?

Thanks in advance!!!

You'll need to provide something to them. Are you having escort cards? Put something on their that indicates their choice, like a sticker or have different colors.

You'll want to check with your venue to see what they want and what makes it easist for them so you know what you need to do.

We provided the venue a list ahead of time with how many of each meal they needed to make.  Then there was a color coded dot on the back of each escort card that indicated what that person had ordered.  Worked very smoothly.

When you make your place cards (escort cards tell people what table to sit at, place cards tell them which exact seat to sit at), you can use a different color paper, a jewel, or colored ink to let the servers know what goes where. Beware though, that dim lighting can make it hard to tell the difference between different colors unless the difference is very obvious. Sometimes you can forgo place cards but in this instance, you will probably need them because with escort cards, many people just look at their table number, then pop it in their purse. If there is a place card already in place at their seat, (hopefully) they will leave it there.
