I had lunch in the Castle on the Hudson and it is really stunning. It depends on how many people you plan on having- I think Catlin and Castle fit up to 150, Anthony's fits more I believe.

i had my wedding at Catlin Gardens last Sept and i dont have enough good things to say about them.Everything i asked for & more was done for us,they even let us use the grounds/bridal suite for a few hours before we were supposed to so we could take pictures.our day couldnt have been more special bc of them.

I can't recommend Anthony's Pier Nine enough.  Their packages are fantastic (very hard to beat in my opinion). They have that great garden room so you can take pics rain or shine.  The food is great, the people are fantastic to work with.

They never responded to me either!
I am not sure what you budget is but Castle on the Hudson is pretty expensive. Around $150-160 pp before taxes and fees.  Ive been to a few weddings at Anthonys and they have all been very nice - as long as you dont mind other weddings going on at the same time as yours.
Ive also hear that Caitlen Gardens is beautiful but have not heard good things about the food there.

    Go with your gut.

I have no info on any of the venues you listed other than:

Catlin Gardens and Anthony's Pier Nine get mentioned here a lot. (by happy brides!)

Castle on the Hudson restaurant is beautiful! food is great! But the wedding reception room is downstairs, and the dancing and dinner rooms are separate, and it's smaller than other places. And a lot of money.

As far as Bear Mountain, I have never dealt with them, but other girls have given you their takes. how does the place treat you? But, I feel EVERY venue should be prompt when a potential bride calls to inquire about their business. Remember first impressions say a lot.

    Good luck!

I just joined the knot.com and recently engaged!  I visited the Falkirk Estate and Country Club and was REALLY surprised of the renovations, we were very impressed.  I keep reading the prices are too high, however, I am finding they are comparable to other places in the area...they offered us a great price of $120. per person and the package had everything you could want for a Saturday night in Fall 2011, the staff thus far was really nice and helpful, we spent almost 2 hours there during our meeting.   They are currently on top of my list....Visiting more venues to compare.  Good luck everyone and I love reading everyones input....
