AW- Bachelorette Trip to San Diego!

I talked to my MOH last night and she and my other MOH officially booked the trip for the 4th weekend in August- we are going Thursday- Sunday. So excited!

So now, those of you that have been- what have been your favorite things to do there? We are staying in the gaslamp quarter. I have been there once before but very briefly and I was underage:)

We talked about the zoo, going out 1-2 nights, and the Seaport Village or whatever that is. Any suggestions are welcome! I would ask the San Diego board, but it is a very quiet board.

The zoo is incredible. Truly amazing. Also the gaslamp district is a TON of fun. We drove down from LA one day to go to the zoo and had dinner in the gaslamp district. You could also go to Mexico for an afternoon since its so close!

Ah that sounds like it will be such a fun weekend, I have never really been there (I was a toddler when I did go) so I don't have much advice, but it sounds like it will be great!

The gaslamp quarters are a must , may I also suggest checking out Old Town. It's super cute and there are some fun little shops...and I think they even have a trolley that runs through it. Have fun!!!

they have Seaworld too, but the San Diego Wild Animal Park is better than the zoo so i would check that out, otherwise Pacific beach is a great spot!

Oh man, you are going to have so much fun! The zoo is a must, in my book! Balboa Park, where the zoo is, is huge and has a couple of different gardens worth checking out and a number of awesome museums - art, natural history, air and space, etc. You easily could spend a week just checking out everything in Balboa Park. I love the Gas Lamp quarter, so many tasty restaurants and fun bars. Old Town also has neat character and restaurants a-plenty. There's a path along the bay that goes past the USS Midway, Seaport Village, Embarcadero Marina, which is fun to stroll along. You can also head over the bridge to check out Coronado - lots to do over there as well.

Umm San Diego is my favorite city EVER.  Most people have cabins they go to in the summer... we always went/go to SD lol.  Everyone has already listed lots of good spots to hit up.

I agree: Wild Animal Park is awesome, but a bit of a drive out to Escondido - nothing horrible but if you want to stay in town I'd go to the Zoo, it's also great.  I personally LOVE Sea World but its quite a bit more cost wise than the Zoo.

Coronado - We actually always stay in Coronado when we are there.  LOVE it there.  It's beautiful.  Lots of fun houses to look at, cute shops and bistros.  The Hotel del Coronado you must visit if you go over there.  I LOVE it there.  The most beautiful hotel with a few good restraunts and upscale shops.  The beach on Coronado is the best.  It's not quite as crowded as somewhere like Pacific or Mission beach.  If you want a more relaxing day at the beach I would suggest going there.   You can drive there over the bridge or if you want to take the fairy over from down town that is fun also.  The fairy drops you off at an area with a bunch of shops and restraunts.

Mission Beach - Some rides/carnival games.  A boardwalk and shops, more of a busy area and younger crowd.

Point Loma - A state park across the bay from down town.  It has an AMAZING view of downtown, Coronado, and the naval base on Coronado.  It's a great place to go for an hour or so one afternoon.

The trolley was mentioned before- It takes you to lots of different spots around town and Coronado while giving you a guided tour along the way.  You can get on and off like the bus but it's a more fun way to see the city.

Harbor Tours - I've done these a million times and they never get old to me!  If you go down by bay downtown they have a few different companies that do boat harbor tours.  They run like every hour and give you a tour of the north/south/both ends of the harbor.

And yes you will have no shortage of bars/restraunts to go to if you are staying in the Gas Lamp Quarter!
