Mill on the River?

Hi,
We just started planning and to say I'm overwhelmed would be an understatement!  Basically we want something relatively all inclusive but don't want a typical ballroom style wedding. Mill on the River looks nice. Has anyone been to a wedding there that can vouch for it? Thoughts....good or bad? Packages range from $59-$85 pp which seems pretty appealing. For $70 you can get quite a bit....?

Thanks!

Re: Mill on the River?

  • FI's cousin got married there this past summer.  Well, she got married in a church and had her reception at MOTR.  The cocktail hour was outside and her reception was in the downstairs room.  It depends on the size of your wedding but I think she had about 80-85 people.  I would not recommend any more than that.  The food was very good, however, I wasn't impressed with the way the cake looked.  It was included and looked okay from a distance.  But up close it was melting and was not frosted very well.  I would recommend it, but as another heads up there is no bathroom downstairs.  If your guests need to use the bathroom they need to go up the stairs (one of those motorized seats is available) and they use the same bathroom as restaurant guests.

As I said, I would recommend it and it's got some beautiful photo ops.
  • I am getting married there on Feb 18th, and have nothing but positive things to say.  They have been so accomodating and put no restrictions on what I can do as far as decorating.  We are having a relatively small wedding (60) and it's perfect for the downstaris area.

If you PM me I can tell you more.
  • I have been there for a RD and a wedding(outside)/reception(downstairs).  I thought the food was great on both occassions and I loved the atmosphere.  I know for the cake you could bring in your own as long as the baker has a state license but MOTR was very accomodating to what the bride wanted for her cake tower.  One of the best weddings we've been too.  Bartenders were great too..lol

  • I got married there this past May and cannot say anything negative about it.  I thought it was great and got amazing feedback.  I actually got married outside in the gazebo and LOVED that they did not charge extra for the ceremony.  My pictures came out gorgeous due to the location and the staff was super accomodating.  IO worked with Laura and Amanda and they took care of everything.  I had 120 people so we had the larger rustic looking room upstairs with the outside balcony overlooking the gazebo and water.  People raved about the food and I was so happy with the price per person since it included open bar, cake, and amazing food.  It was perfect...PM me if you want to see pics or have questions...happy to help
  • Thanks ladies! I'm going to be there this Saturday to check it out! I can't wait. :)

  • I toured there last weekend and it seems pretty nice.  For the price it almost seems too good to be true
