David's Bridal Layaway

I was curious if anyone has used the DB layaway?  I am just wondering if it is for wedding dresses only or any dresses and accessories that they sell?  I already have my dress but want to go look for a party dress and shoes but don't have the money right away.  I was thinking this may be an option.

Re: David's Bridal Layaway

  • I dont have an answer for you...but they do have online chat with their customer service reps. Id think they could answer that for you

  • I did the layaway, it was great.  I think it's only 30 days, though.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • I know it is 60days and it is 25% down I think.  Thanks...I will try the online customer service

  • They will hold all your accessories! I loved it!
  • Thank you.  I primarily want to use it so I can just make one trip in and buy everything I need so that I don't have to make a dozen trips as I have the money.  Also, no place to store it so it will buy me time.

  • I just got an email from DB with all the info on layaway. It's 60 days, 25% down, and you have to spend at least $75. (There's a 10% fee if you cancel it.) So long as you meet those requirements youre good to go :-)
  • Good.  I am excited now because I feel like it will be more off my to do list.  I still have to get a slip, longlie bra, hair accessories and shoes.  $75 is not a problem.

  • I didn't do the layaway, but if you have decent credit and don't mind opening another account, you can do 12 months same as cash with their credit card. I know, going into debt is BAD, but I was able to buy my dress and then pay it off when I got my tax refund.

The store I went to only allowed you to do layaway with dress that were in the store at that time. Since I wanted to special order my dress (they only had one in the store that didn't fit) I had to either pay for it or open the credit card. Don't know if this is a company policy or not.

  • I am trying to be good and not put it on credit.  I could do that but I want to avoid it if possible. Thanks though.

  • Layaway at DB is for 60 days, 25% down, minimun $75 purchase, in stock merchandise only.  Anything that needs to be ordered must be paid in full.

  • Not sure if it applies to all DB's (but I don't see why it wouldn't), but when I got my dress they also told me in order to put it on layaway you must have at least 4 items.  Dress, shoes, veil, anything.  But I think you probably have that covered.

  • Four items will be no problem....bra, slip, shoes, hair accessory and possibly a party dress for the rehearsal or shower.
