Wedding band/music suggestions

Hi Girls,
My wedding reception will be on the seacoast, and the venue has a killer stage. My fiance and I need an awesome band, but every group we've been finding is well over $5000, and we cannot afford to spend that much.  Any suggestions?

    Hi,
    I'm not much help on the band situation since I've only seen DJ's.  My only suggestion would be to venture over to the Boston Board.  There's always a lot of talk about bands over there along with prices. 

    Also, if you don't find anything in Boston, I know lots of girls over there that have used people in RI for a better price/same quality for other things.  It might be worth a shot.

    The Hard Rock Cafe in Boston does frequent nights in which they showcase bands for weddings and events....I used to get emails from them all the time, but I deleted all of them.  If you contact the Hard Rock in Boston, they can probably let you know how you can get more infomration. 

    Also, we went to a private party last summer and they had an AWESOME band called "My Cousin Vinny"...they frequently play at the Red Jacket in North Conway.  If we hadn't already booked a DJ, I would have considered them.  They were pretty reasonable too...under $1k.

    I am having a wedding on the seacoast in NH in June and we have hired the band Airtight.  We went to their home studio for a preview where they played music for us and they sounded great.  They came with many positive recommendations, and the band coordinator is very personable and has been really easy to work with.  Depending on how many pieces you want the band to be configured, that determines the price but they are below $5K.  Please let me know if you'd like more information and I can give you their number.  Good luck!

    Airtight is a great band, one of my girlfriends used to be the lead singer of the group, Thayer are a lot of fun! I am getting married in October and can help you guys out! I am a musician and actually sing in a Boston based cover band & we do a lot of weddings. My band is called Incadende, we are under 5k and are not your typical wedding band, we treat every gig like it's a rock show, playing everything from The Beatles, to The Killers to Gaga. We actually just had a showcase at The Purple Shamrock in Boston on Monday night. Check out the site Bestbands.com, they list when they have showcases to see a bunch of different bands that can fit your style. Or you can go through us directly as well.
