Save the Dates/ Invites!?

Having our wedding in may poses a hugeeeee problem! If we follow the typical time frame for sending our Save the Dates...they'd get lost in holiday mail between Thanksgiving to after the first of the year. I think sending them out before thanksgiving would be best....then sending invites a little earlier, too we have a bunch of OOT guests that'll be traveling.what do you ladies think...?

    I am sending my STD's out in about 2 weeks or so... I know some ladies have already sent their STD's out. I will wait for the invites after the holiday season for sure... Do you already have your STD's if so you could send them now.

    I have two sets of STDs- a French version for my overseas relatives and an English version for local invitees. My French STDs I've already sent off. The next batch goes out in October, beating the holiday mail rush. Then invitations are going out in January or February.

    I mailed my STDs out last weekend so I don't think it's too early! Especially with the holidays coming up as you mentioned.

    I sent mine the first week of July since so many of my guest are OOT. I probably wont send invites until late Feburary early march

    When we were planning for May 2013 wedding, we were planning on September - early Octorber for the STD so that they would not get mixed in the holiday mail.

    I think you will be perfectly fine so send out your STDs before Thanksgiving.

    As for the invites, I would still send them out within the normal 8-10 weeks prior. The OOT guests will know that they will be receiving an invite & when to plan to attend (if they plan to attend) if you are sending them a STD, so sending the invite within the standard timeframe prior shouldn't really change that too much, I wouldn't think.

    It never too early!  It cut down on the question " when's the wedding?"
