Need HELP with cost for a reception!

The cost for the reception hall is $900 for 4 hours and $200 for each additional hour.  This does not include the cost of table rentals, linens or caterer.  And the 4 hours is set up to take down.

Having (thankfully) never planned a wedding before, is this on the high side for reception locations?

Thanks!

Depends on the location and how popular of a place it is.

Really all places are different. To me that doesn't seem crazy at all, but it will depend on your budget. Each location will be different. For example we considered the Glidden House and theirfacility charge is $4500 (no catering or rentals). I honestly think there is a huge range and several ways that facilities charge. Some will not have a facility charge, others will.

Can I ask what location – as JK said it really depends on look, uniqueness and popularity of the place. Also depends on if it’s a location that charges a fee on top of inhouse catering, or it’s a facility rental where you bring in outside catering.

My location is $750 for 5 hours and $200 for additional hours, and this includes linens and dinnerware/tables but we have to use their catering.  That was the cheapest I found (and that was Sandusky) so what you're finding sounds pretty decent, if you love the location.  Another thing to consider is if your place is also your caterer, sometimes the room will be cheaper but food/drink will be more expensive, and vice versa.  That's something that determined my final decision.

Thanks, all!  @AYAMM, it's at the Conrad Botzum Farmstead in Penninsula, Ohio (between Akron and Cleveland).  I am going through it tomorrow and have thought of several questions to ask, including approximate cost of the linens.

Thanks, again!  I'm having a hard time knowing what to do after I go through it b/c I have nothing to compare the price to!
