Electronic STD

Did anyone do an electronic Save the Date? If so, can you reccommend what software or website or whatever to make one?
It's an idea I'm toying around with to save some moolah. The Knot website offers one, but I'd like to look at more options. Thanks Ladies! You are the best!!!

I created an e-STD using Pingg (http://www.pingg.com/gallery/collection/save-the-dates).  I loved it and it allows you to keep track of rsvp's, etc.  Very attractive and user-friendly.

Unfortunately, (and I'm not sure whether our's is an isolated case) we found that guests were pretty old-school!!  People were more prone to ignoring their e-mails (i.e. they'd either put it aside for "later" or forgot about it altogether).

In the end, we still mailed paper STD's.  People were more responsive that way and it was something "material" that they could hold on to, stick on their fridge, etc. to remember our date.  I was against it at first (due to saving paper, $$$, and effort), but I must admit the paper STD was more effective!  HTH!!  :)

We just made ours on microsoft word and them emailed it to everyone with a link to our website (we made ours at mywedding.com). Our website then had info about where we were going, things to do on the island, link to our travel agent, info on where we are going to stay and a clicky rsvp. For us most of our friends and family are relatively computer savvy and it worked pretty well. Obviously for grandparents etc we just made phonecallsbut everyone else said they loved how easy it was. We also got a lot of good feedback about sending out our STD emails super early so people had time to plan and save for the trip. Hope that helps :)

if you wanna check out our website just lemme know

We also did an electronic STD, but we told the important people in person as well, which was our close family and a lot of friends.  Some have RSVP'd on the website, some in person, and some not at all.  I guess we're not really concerned with overall numbers yet.  I'm not really counting anyone except immediate family as coming until they have tickets in hand.  We used the Wedding Bells to link it to our webpage, also on Wedding Bells

Our save the dates cost a grand total of $30 through vistaprint. I designed them myself and then ordered them on there. Livingsocial has a deal where it's $10 for $50 worth of printing pretty much every week. The ladies on the DIY board are constantly posting them. I snatched up 3 when it came to my city (I bought one and had each of my parents buy one and gift them to me) and all I ended up paying for our actual invites was shipping and postage.
