I am having my wedding & reception in the same venue. At Mellwood Arts Center, in the Event Room 2.  It is $995. It will probably comfortably hold 100 people though.

You get chairs and tables.  You are in charge of all the other rentals, dj, food, etc.

I am doing the exact same thing as Anna.  Mellwood, ER2.  I'm very worried about having too many people though.  I know that we will have a lot of people decline, because 98% of our guests are out of town.  They say ER2 will hold 160, though I think that would be very tight.  Mellwood is nice because you can pick your own vendors.  When you are required to use a venue's vendors, it can get very expensive.

Edit:  Oh, here is some more information.  You get 20 round tables, 6 buffet tables, and 200 chairs.  You have access to the room from 8am-2am, so you can set your event at whatever time and for whatever length you want.

I am also getting married at Mellwood Art Center in Event Room 2. I loved the idea of it all in one place and once I checked out Mellwood I thought it would be a great location. IF you decide to check them out just know they book up really fast! Good luck with planning!

I just responded to a similar question by another bride-to-be's:

Depends on what part of town you are looking, but UofL's Shelby campus (Eastend) has a newly remodelled venue for weddings. Their pricing is $750 for the entire day, and you don't have to worry about splitting your guests into separate areas, you can all be in the same room. Plus, you don't have to worry about parking like you do at some places downtown, and there's outdoor space too. What's really nice too is that you can have your wedding and reception in the same building, but it doens't have to be in the same room unless you want it to be (All in the same price!) There are plenty of bathrooms and they're brand new! Something that was important to me was coordinating everything (linens, chairs, decor, flooring, etc.) at Shelbyhurst you can get pretty much everything in one place but the cake. Best of all you can bring in your own caterer, and they have a specialist there to help you allday and prior to your wedding. Seriously, it's great for the price. Check out their facebook page for pics- http://www.facebook.com/UofLWeddings. Hope this helps

Check out Sawyer Hayes community center at EP Tom Sawyer. Outdoor wedding with beautiful new reception hall. Holds around 200. The price is a bit higher at 2200 but you do get it all day and to pick all your vendors.
