Thank You Cards

Apparently TK ate my post so lets try this again

We received a card with $$ from 8 people (aunt & Uncle, their 3 kids & their significant others). None of them live at home with their parents. So do I send one thank you card to the parents house anyways? Or write out 4... which I would then have to send all of them to their parents house, since that is how we did invitations.

Another question. I realized my one cousin did not give us a card or gift. No big deal, but I am not sure if I should be concerned it got misplaced. Should I ask my aunt (she is easier to get a hold of) or just assume there was not one?

Re: Thank You Cards

  • I wrote separate cards (in your case, 4), and sometimes asked the parent to deliver it to their adult children if I wasn't as close with the adult children or if they weren't invited to the wedding and I didn't have their address (I'm talking about the church shower thank you notes that I wrote - church showers are open to everyone, even if they're not invited to the wedding)

  • I'd send one thank you to each address.  And for people who attended the wedding & didn't bring/send a gift, I'm not sending a thank you because I likely won't remember to after we get back from the honeymoon.  I might just assume there isn't a card for your cousin, if she doesn't get a thank you and gave you one she'll probably ask you about it.

  • I'd write one to each person. We got similar gifts and I plan to thank each person or couple.

  • Each person should be acknowledged separately.
  • Another question about Thank You notes-- Do you think it matters that the Thank You notes sent for wedding and shower gifts are the same style?  We have a lot of blank save -the-date post cards that could also be used for thank you notes. It would continue the same theme. They are embossed profiles of the bride and groom. Any thoughts??
