Lets chat

So lets chat and get to know everyone.

I'm Jen and I'm a web developer at an ad agency in downtown Louisville. FI and I have been engaged since July 21 and dating since October 2006. We actually became engaged 45 months to the day we met, so that's fun! He definitely didn't plan it that way since he can't even remember the month we met, but it was a happy coincidence. :)

The proposal wasn't a huge surprise. I had gone with him about a month beforehand to buy a ring. I was there when he paid and all so I knew it was going to happen soon. I even had an idea that he was going to propose on the day we went on a walk in Cherokee Park. He kept patting his shorts pocket (trying to be slick while checking to make sure he still had the ring) and I figured this was a good time since we go there all the time. However, he did manage to catch me off guard after we took our dog to Beringer Hill. We were on our way back to the car so I figured it wasn't happening. Boom, it did!

We'll be getting married in November 2011 in Evansville, IN at O'Day Discovery Lodge. You can see pics here: http://www.hearthstonegeorgia.com/ODay.htm I think I've searched for that website so many times it's brought it up a couple spots in Google Search! :)

So tell me about yourselves!

Hi I'm Emily and I am a missionary recruiter.  I'm getting married in 2 weeks in a simple, rustic ceremony at the property for the organization I work for.  We'll be married in a meadow, surrounded on 3 sides with woods.  There are 154 people who will be there.  We've written the ceremony ourselves and are really happy with it.  Have a few small details to do still, but it's getting there.  We're having a dessert reception afterwards and will have 13 different kinds of dessert for the guests.  Colors are blue and green, focusing on aqua and lime.  BMs are wearing dresses in varying shades of blue or green (I told them to pick any dress in any shade of blue or green just not baby blue and to not spend more than $30.)  and GMs are wearing black pants, white long sleeve shirt and a tie in any shade of blue or green.  We collected driftwood from the Falls of the Ohio State Park for the aisle decor and the direction signs.  Oh, and our entire wedding is costing $3500 including rings.

That's awesome! The driftwood is a great idea. Since we're doing a November wedding, I've been playing around with how to design everything to be more rustic. I've thought about doing bare branches and such for centerpieces instead of flowers.  Hopefully the weather will be as beautiful in two weeks as it was today!

Hi!  I'm Meredith and I get to be Mrs. Cull (pronounced "cool") on 12/18/10.  I'm a middle school science teacher (my students are pumped about the name change) and field hockey coach in my non-wedding oriented time.  My fiance and I met through a mutual friend in August 2008 and we've been together ever since.  I'm kinda like you in the fact that I knew we were going to get engaged at some point, but he totally surprised me by proposing at 2am when we were in Atlanta.

We're getting married at Owl Creek Country Club in Anchorage, KY and also holding our reception there.  My dress is the third one I tried on and I love it (just can't gain or lose weight between now and then).  Some of the most stressful parts so far have been BM dresses and the "list."  Our colors are wine/black/silver/white and we're having about 125 people (my FI is Italian so keeping it this small has been a task and a half).  We're serving two carved meats (turkey and beef tenderloin) along with a potato bar, salad, and a myriad of veggies.

Thanks for starting this link - I'm always wondering if there are any other Louisville brides out there...

Hi, ladies! My name is Katie, and I'm a copyeditor for the school district. I met my fiance, Sean, on match.com (whadya know, it worked!), and we got engaged in May. We had talked about getting married, and I thought the proposal would come during the summertime, but he wanted to surprise me (and he did!).

We're getting married October 22, 2011, at Christ Church on Brownsboro Road. The reception is booked at Glassworks, and I've already found my dress (at Dolce Vita Bridal in Middletown. I couldn't believe how awesome this store is. The prices were unbelievable, cheaper than the big chain bridal stores, and the owner is super sweet and helps you out in any way). I'm still searching for the right shade of purple for my color (I'm thinking like a dark orchid/plum color).

One of my favorite parts is the cake. Shortly after we met, Sean and I went on our second date. Our favorite NFL teams were playing each other, so we went to BW3's to watch the game. After, we went to the Homemade Ice Cream & Pie Kitchen, and we sat at a table and talked for FOUR hours. When he got in his car to go home, he texted his best friend to say, "That's it. I've met the girl I'm going to marry." So we're getting our wedding cake from the Homemade Pie Kitchen. :-)

I wish the day would hurry up and get here!

My name is Shannon and I met my fiance almost a year ago on Plenty of fish.  Dave proposed to me by giving me a Taco Bell Medium sauce that said Will You Marry Me.  It was perfect.

I work in finance, which has it's moments.

We are getting married Sept 24, 2011.
