Candy Buffet

Hi Ladies!

One of my bms is getting married this summer at Round Hill House in Washingtonville.  I was talking to her last night, and she mentioned she wants to do a candy buffet as the favor.  I didn't have one, but I told her I would ask you girls for advice on which websites to use.  Also, I noticed in Jaimie's post below that she's ordering candy now for her June wedding.  I assume that's so it doesn't melt while being shipped? Do most sites require that? Will the candy go bad between now and July?

Thanks, in advance, for any suggestions you may have!

I bought a lot of candy right after Valentine's Day because pink was one of my colors.  It was cheaper than ordering it all online.  It stayed fine til my July wedding.  I actually just threw out the final remains about a month ago.

Hey! Good to see you on...you are right on point, we don't want it to melt once it becomes spring. My mom is requiring it being done in the winter so she doesn't waste the money ya know? We've officially covered all sunlight coming in from the basement dur to th excess of household items I've accumulated. Candy will stay until June for me.

hey! For my wedding we went online and ordered our candy about 6months before the wedding. Since it was during the summer they sent our chocolate on the coolest day and shipped it with cooling packs. The cooling packs were only 1.00 each. Also, if shes worried that they wont last she could do what we did. Once we found a bulk candy wholesaler, we called them and explained how long the candy would be sitting. They told us which candies could sit till then and be okay. Once we got them we stored the bags in a cool place and didnt open them. The ones that werent seeled tight, we put in huge ziplock bags. Hope this helps!

We ordered ours online too. We ordered it about a month in advance, and has it shipped to my office since our wedding was in FL. In the warm months and to hot climates, most of the online companies require overnight or second day shipping (and the extra cost was really high). We kept the candy boxed in our condo (this was in August) and it made it to FL in our truck no problem, but we did not have it in direct heat.
