Beware of TLC Bridals in Frederick, MD

I was in Frederick on Friday afternoon (around 2pm) and thought I'd stop in to see what hair accessories they had, I walked in, and there was a lady standing at the door, I explained that I was interested in looking at accessories - she quickly responded with "well we're very busy - we have people waiting in line for a fitting room" - I explained that I was only interested in viewing accessories, and that I would not require a fitting room - she asked what type of accessories I was interested in, and I told her I would like to look at their hair accessories, I also added that I wouldnt even require assistance and that I just wanted to browse the accessories they had on display.  She just stared at me - meanwhile - the entire time she's been talking to me about how busy they are, I have yet to see a single other person.  I pointed to the display case behind her and said "I'd really just like to look at the accessories in the case" she said "we're extremely busy" so I said "thats fine I'll just leave" and she said nothing and proceeded to shut the door behind me.  I have never been treated so rudely, even my mother who was with me was appalled at her behavior.  I will never go back to TLC, the only thing they had, that none of the other bridal salons I visited had, was their unwelcoming attitude.

I didn't like them either!  They give this very "I don't have time for this" vibe.  I have a bridesmaid who lives in Frederick and I wanted her to try on the bridesmaid dress before I went ahead and made the decision to use that one (I made all the different body types try it on to make sure it flattered everyone.)  TLC was the only store in Frederick that carried the dress and it was just an awful visit!

I told her not to buy it there, and to get it where I bought my gown.  Camero Bridaly in Glen Burnie, them I will highly recommend!

I'm not defending them , but I will just point out that they do have an entire upstairs... which may have been busy. But still... they should NOT have treated you that way at all. That is just ridiculous. I found our bridesmaid's dress there, and ended up ordering it from perfectbridal.com for half of what TLC wanted. I called them first to see if they would come closer to the online price and her response was "the store has to pay the rent" LOL their loss. No sale, or 6 dresses cheaper than the overpriced mess they charge??? hmmmm....

Oh I understand that there were more rooms than just that one, but if they were so busy, why wasnt she upstairs helping, and if she had to stay down there to "man the door" why couldnt I look at the accessories right there while she did that?  It just didnt make sense to me.

I got my wedding dress from them & love Penny & Terry. I know EXACTLY who you are talking about. She was rude to one of my BM's & Future MIL when they went upstairs to just look at BM dresses...... Don't let that discourage you from their store...... :) My dress came in within 1 month from there & they were so great w/ exception of that 1 girl......

TLC was amazing! It's so sad that that happened. Everyone that I know has had nothing but excellent experiences with them! This is why it's so important to remember that you only get one chance to make a first impression.
