QOTD 12/13/10

Most people hate the idea of a cash bar. What do you think about the idea of having free beer/wine and cash for any other alcohol?

I don't really like the idea, I don't think guests should have to pay for anything at the wedding. Period.

I don't like the idea, but I'm not as militant as others.  It also depends on what your crowd expects.  Some groups are used to having cash bars so if your guests won't be offended then it's not as big a deal to me.

I am against it as well in most cases. But my mom brought up a good point. We are having a limited bar and once the alcohol is gone, there will be no more. My mom thinks that we should give the people that want to continue drinking the opportunity to pay for it.

I have mixed feelings about it because I want to provide a bar with beer, wine and liquor, but its just really expensive. We could provide more alcohol if it was just beer and wine, or just liquor but is that fair to the people that don't drink beer or wine or don't drink liquor?

I do not think guests should have to pay to drink.
However, it is pretty typical in our circle to have a dollar shot dance, that's the only thing I'd really bring cash to a wedding for.

I am against having cash bars. I think that if you are having alcohol, that it should not be paid for by the guest. I would rather not have any.

No cash bars.  We're stretching our money by doing beer/wine only, although we just did the math and the difference between beer/wine only and beer/wine/liquor is only about $325.  Soooo, we may just splurge on liquor depending on how many rsvp's we get.

Either way, it should all be free, even if it's only beer and wine.
