Ceremony and Cocktail Hr Music

Anyone have good suggestions for music for the ceremony and cocktail hour?  We were thinking of a guitarist and a bassist or a guitarist and a keyboardist.  We have a DJ for the reception, but just wanted to add a touch of live music.  I reached out to a few people on gigmasters.com, but haven't found a duo that is on the cape.  They are travelling from nearby.  We would utimatelly like to use Cape talent.  Any suggestions appreciate!!

When I was looking for ceremony musicians, I found people on the Cape tended to be more expensive that people travelling from South Shore or elsewhere, even with the travel fee. That said, I had looked into Bruce Abbott, I think was his name, it was a flute and guitar duo but he had several different options of instruments. My friend had them at her ceremony and it was lovely.

Ask the wedding coordinator at your venue for local connections...

we used duo cellos - schultze and ericsson http://capecelloduo.com/

they are local and play (i think) for the cape cod orchestra. they did a fabulous job at the ceremony, but were a little difficult to stay in touch with after the contract was signed (everything worked out great, though).

Katie Lynch is a local harpist who has a great reputation and has her own amp. We looked into going with her, but i liked the sound of the cellos better.

You might even try a local high school- they're usually vey talented and willing to play/travel for less since they want the experience. Just a thought.
