  I don't know what your relationship is like with these people currently, but I'd be tempted to ask them to pay back the ring bearer's clothing since they dropped out at the last minute. We aren't having a ring bearer at all. I think its your best option to just skip it at this point. Sorry that happened after you tried to warn them about this.

  I don't think I would ask them to pay for the ring bearer's cloth. You weren't obligated to do so in the first place and they weren't obligated to have their son be the ring bearer until they agreed to it. I would try to call up the store see if you can get some of your money back. Just skip the ring bearer part. It won't be the end of the world if you don't have one.

  I can understand why you are so mad and I would be just as upset, especially when you asked over and over if they were sure and they reassured you.  People can be so selfish and not realize how their decisions affect others.  Weddings seem to bring that out in people.

  I understand that the mom will need help at home after new baby is there.  However, there is no scenario in my mind that would prevent the ring bearer's dad from bring him to the ceremony for an hour or two.  I'm baffled.

  So sorry! Tough break for the kid, too. He may have been looking forward to it. I would just move forward without a ring bearer and try to forgive your friend's rudeness.

  I'm sooooo sorry! I COMPLETELY understand your frustration!!! People are seriously SO RUDE!!!
  
  We lost one of our FGs about 2 weeks before the wedding. I was messaging her mom (on facebook, her ph# was disconnected) for a couple of months try to get a response. She'd told me she'd order the dress, and then I didn't hear from her in May. After 4 or 5 spaced out messages, I finally said "if you're not coming, fine, but I need to know ASAP". She finally responded a couple of days later saying she wasn't coming, she'd just gone through a divorce, was broke, but was going to Colorado to see her sister. Fine. But the day of the wedding, she posted a picture from the fairgrounds ACROSS THE STREET of her DD. If she would have given me enough notice, I would have bought the FG dress (which we settled for a less fancy, less expensive one because the original one was too expensive for her)...and her own grandmother came to the wedding, so I'm sure she would have had a ride. I'm still pretty miffed, but it was one of those things I just had to brush off, because it's out of my control. Thankfully though, I had a second FG and was able to pull her off the programs, so nobody really knew.
