New to the area...need help!

Hey ladies! I just moved to DE a few months back because my FI is in the Air Force. We are having the wedding back in Minnesota (where I am from) and I purchased my dress from a bridal salon there. I am having the dress sent to me so I can have alterations done here (rather than the added stress of flying back and forth for fittings).....with all that said, I need help finding a seamstress....and an excellent one because I know alterations will need to be done :) I don't mind traveling within a few hours of Dover. Any suggestions?

Also, we are going to be getting our engagement pictures done (we had them scheduled a few months back, but with all the random snow and lots of rain...we had to keep postponing). We have them "arranged" with Ken Staab from the Townsend/Smyrna area. Anyone heard anything about his work? All I pretty much know is from what I see on his website. We don't have a deposit down on it...so it's nothing set in stone.

Thanks in advance for the suggestions! :)

I have a meeting with Sophia for alterations next Friday, if you'd like I can post a little note about my experience after, but I do think you will find that many of the girls here recommend her and have worked with her before.

I originally was going to meet with a few seamstress/tailors but after seeing all of the positive comments and feedback about Sophia & her work, I just decided to go with her. Oh & she is in Wilmington

Can't help you with the photographer, never heard of him. SORRY!

try Anita's Cutom Alterations she's located at 76 Hitching Post Drive Dover, DE
    (302)399-3394

she works out of her house but she's EXCELLENT! she did all of the alterations for my sister's wedding last year & they were perfect. she's also very well priced! she took in my bridesmaid dress for only $30! i'm going to use her for my wedding dress next year.

We are also considering Ken Staab for photography. Have you met with him yet? His price is right, that's for sure, and I loved many of his photojournalistic images on his site... Let me know how the engagement pics go. We're planning a shoot in May...
