Packing up my house :(
So, this is bittersweet. My mom and I are starting to pack up my house this week, to get it ready to sell. I'm excited because it means that I'll be moving to KY in 8 months, but I'm sad because this house was my independence. I bought it by myself when I was 24. I also have the best neighbors in the world. And, good neighbors are hard to find.
And, I'm scared of the housing market right now. FI has had his house on the market for a year, and no one has even made an offer. So, if our houses don't sell, we will continue to have 2 house payments and rent at an apartment. Oh, and all the utilities to all three places
Oh, and I hate the way realtors come in and tell you everything about a house that makes it not worthy of buying. I know it is there job, but come on! I bought the house with pink walls in EVERY room, green shag carpet and orange shag carpet. Oh, and carpet in the kitchen and the bathroom. Looks didn't scare me away!
Sorry, I'm done being sad. Time to drive home and start packing.

Packing/selling a house does indeed bite the big one. I had to go through it with my mom and brother last year. The house was on the market for 10 months before we sold. The worst part was having the showing lady come through. She basically goes around your house and makes it look...well, fake, I guess would be the word. Like no one lives there, it's just for show. She even moved our furniture around.
Seeing my house empty was the weirdest feeling. We were living in that house for 17 years and when it started to echo from all the things being gone, it was really sad.
Still here and still fabulous!
And, I know it'll be for the best because FI and I will be married and living together. I'm excited for that! That is the best part of selling my house!
