TK has been working on trying to get all the issues fixed. The person who is in charge of the boards posted this on the mod forum yesterday and I wanted to share it with you to let you know what is going on:
I know how frustrated you are. I can tell you that I’m personally just as frustrated as many of these issues were supposed to be fixed months ago. It is our top priority to address the problems you’ve been experiencing. I met with our CEO and IT team on Friday to discuss how we can move faster to improve usability and add some of the features you’ve been waiting for.
Some background: As I’m sure you’re already aware, we’ve been in the process of converting The Nest and The Bump message boards to a new format and platform. Once this conversion is complete, The Nest and The Bump boards will be on the same platform as The Knot, which is hosted by a third-party vendor. As we began making preparations to convert TN and TB boards to the new format, we noticed that posts were disappearing across all of the boards that were hosted by our vendor. Our vendor has spent the past three months researching the issue and trying to find a solution. They thought they had resolved it last week before we converted The Nest boards. Turns out that their solution didn’t hold up and that’s why The Knot members, along with members of The Nest and The Bump local boards, started to notice posts disappearing.
As of Saturday, we haven’t received any reports of missing posts and will not make any additional format changes until we know for sure that there is a permanent solution. Our IT team is also aware that our load time needs to be addressed and that the following features need to be implemented ASAP:
-Sort feature with more options, specifically the ability to filter by most recent post
-Ability for members to easily access their full list of posts and delete when necessary.
-Ability for moderators to ban via mobile
-More threads and posts listed per page
I started requesting these features 3 months ago, and I’m sure that my predecessors also asked for them. Unfortunately it has taken longer than expected due to all of the issues we’re experiencing with our vendor.
I have a list of other functionality and design requests that have been submitted and that will also need to be addressed quickly. Your post count and badges will start displaying accurately once all boards have been converted to the new format. Again, we will not convert any more boards until our vendor is confident that they can support our community and we’ve added the features you've requested.
I’m so sorry this is taking so long. Both our community and IT teams are incredibly frustrated that our vendor has not found a solution yet. I’m sure that from the outside it looks like we’re not taking these issues seriously, but I promise you that we are and that we’re pushing our vendor to move as fast as possible.
