help me think of....

in New Hampshire

I'm looking for a place to take FI for his birthday/celebrate finally getting the ring done!

We don't need anything fancy.  We're simple.  A bed, shower and tv will work for us as long as its not a skeezy place w/bed bugs we're good lol.

We would drive anywhere between these states:  RI, MA, NH, VT and ME.

Any ideas welcome. 

We've already done the Stowe area this year so that is out.

    The Cape this time of year should be nice.  Also York ME is a cute little town that could work.

    Bar Harbor, Maine is beautiful as well and pretty quiet. There is also Camden & Belfast on the coast. The Berkshire's in Western MA, is also really nice. 
    I don't have any recommendations on where to stay.

    Newport, RI this time of the year is gorgeous and you can probably find reasonable hotel rates as it starts to move into the "off-season" when school starts.

    This is probably obvious but maybe a Bed and Breakfast in North Conway NH.

    www.visitnh.com is a good resource!

    Sunapee is also nice.  We said at a bed and breakfast there once and the rates were pretty good too.

    I "second" Newport, RI....love it there this time of year.  Walk the cliffwalk and smell the roses....check out the mansion tours, so much fun.

    I second North Conway, or somewhere in the White Mountains. My fi and I just did a 'mini' vacation up there and stayed at the Lodge, part of the Mt. Washington Resort, but more affordable than the main hotel.  The Lakes Region is so pretty, but this is still peak time for them, so things tend to be more expensive. Might be worth checking out, though!

    I second Mystic CT too!  FI stayed there for work for a few months.  I loved Mystic Village and the Mystic Aquarium.  If you go there Pauls Pasta is in Groton!  They have the best pasta I have ever tasted.  Mystic Pizza is there too.  They have a bunch of movie memorabillia from the movie Mystic Pizza.  Pretty cool!
