Re: QOTD 2/20

  • I'm kind of lame and not doing too many DIY projects :: But I will be doing my own programs, centerpieces, & Table #'s. I haven't started on any of them, but I am looking forward to the Table #'s. My FI is a total videogame buff, so instead of #'s we are naming the tables after different Super Mario Bros characters.

  • There's two I have planned right now that I'm pretty jazzed about. FI used a hacked Mario video game to propose, so I'm working some homages to the game into the wedding. One will be rigging the Mario and Peach figures you see in my sig into a cake topper. There are pre-made Mario wedding cake toppers, but they're at least 80 bucks! Mine will be under 30 when all is said and done. The other is an awesome question mark block card box I found a tutorial for in another Knottie's planning bio. I can't post a link since I'm currently knotting from my phone, but I will later if anyone's interested.

I made this centerpiece for our escort card table that I am in completely in love with.  I may add some hanging crystals to it, but I also like how it looks now.  I have no idea what I am going to do with it after the wedding, but I'l worry about that then :)

My table names :) Our whole wedding is very country, rustic, laid back. Our table names are country song titles. I've embroidered each and every one.

Thats 4 of the 13! For the wedding they'll be put in frames and incorporated into our centerpieces.

This one is for our sweetheart table and also happens to be the title of our wedding song.

After the wedding I'll mix them with squares of scrap fabric and turn them into a quilt.

  • I'm also not really doing a lot of DIY projects (hardly any), but I put together survival kits for my bridesmaids based on this: http://pinterest.com/pin/117867715217095722/

  • I'm not doing very many DIY.  Mostly just shawls for my girls (with Mom's help since I'm not fantastic at sewing).  My boss and his wife are graciously gifting us the candles and stuff for our centerpieces so that's been fun (and somewhat aggravating) to find all the pieces for them.

  • Still searching out some decor ideas for our red and black themed wedding, but I did a couple DIY centerpieces, purchased all of the supplies at Hobby Lobby(they were having some great sales!).  Also found a couple lighted tree branches that I put in a red vase with black rocks to hold it upright, still debating on adding some extra decor in with them.

  • Wow Trawas those are great!!!  It looks like they took a long time to make.

I am excited about putting together my centerpieces- which I keep kinda changing my mind on so I might have mixed centerpieces.

  • I've got sooo many ideas, but below is what I have done so far. The balls are grapevine, woven with ribbon and stuffed with ivory flower petals that sort of flounce while walking...these are for the flower girls. The bouquets I got at hobby lobby and will be wrapping the handles in burlap with a little medallion on each for the girls to use on their charm bracelets...these are for my mini-bridesmaids (my daughter and my niece). Then, I'm making the programs, menu, table #'s, name cards with aged parchment on the copper paper background. I'm also making table runners and table squares (to sit under the centerpieces) with the orange and ivory damask fabric. I can't wait to get started on the rest of it!

  • I am totally blown away by how creative you all are!  Those centerpieces look professional!  And Trawas, I can't believe how special and pretty your embroidered table signs are - you are so talented!

I'm not very talented at the DIY stuff... but I'm probably going to create the table numbers, the escort cards and table map on my computer.  Probably will not be able to print them without some professional help though :)
  • By far my thumbprint guestbook tree. I love how it turned out :)
