I try to get on here at least once a day and read all the posts and when I have time, I'll reply here and there. I feel bad for not being able to chime in more, especially since we are all so close to our weddings. Hopefully things will slow down after next week and I'll be back on here more. I miss interacting with you all!
Anyway, life has been pretty hectic lately, but I've still managed to get some wedding stuff done. I'm excited that FI and I made time to go to the jeweler and order his ring last night. This is the one he picked out.
I also dropped off my wedding band (it's actually a jacket) and I was going to have them size it up because even though it's already a half size larger than my e-ring, it was too tight with all rings together. The associate suggested that we just separate the jacket and make it into two rings. I really hope that works, or else I'll be picking out a different wedding band. It's supposed to be ready on Friday, so I'm crossing my fingers on that!
We also meet with our photographer. Long story short, the photographer that we hired moved and asked a friend of hers to do our wedding in her place. The only reason I am ok with this is because this friend of hers works for one of the best studios in Austin. She is probably 10 times better then our original photographer, so I am pretty excited! We actually like her personality a lot better then our original photographer too, so FI and I both feel so much more comfortable.
And finally, the reason I've been MIA lately is because of all the reno projects at our house. It's going really well, just taking longer then we expected (which is always the case)!
We completely guted our kitchen and that's just about all done. All that's left there is the backsplash and the crown molding above the cabinets.
We have replaced all the old dingy carpet with laminate wood flooring and we just need to finish our master bedroom. I'm hoping to get most of it knocked out tonight.
In the process of removing the tile in front of the fireplace, it damaged the tile surrounding the fireplace, so now we have to redo the fireplace surround. We weren't planning on including this on the project list, but now we have access to do the wiring for mounting the TV about the fireplace, so it's working out for the best.
This weekend, I'm really hoping to start on our master bath and putting down the tile. Right now, we have carpet and it's so nasty! I just want it gone!
Other misc things that need to get done - install the new baseboards in every room, paint master bath, paint 2nd bath, and paint master bedroom.
I'll be sure to show pictures of everything once it's all complete. I'm pushing for it all to be done by the end of next week because my bachelorette party is on the 22nd and all the girls are coming to our house to get ready before hand. I don't want it to be a construction zone! Wish us luck and cross your fingers for us please!!
