We wanted to pass along reviews for our wedding a few weeks ago at the Peabody Library. We were thrilled with our day and couldn't be happier with the services that we received. We were particularly impressed by how well the whole team worked together. Most of them had worked together before and you could tell they felt comfortable with each other. Here you go:
Caterers: Chef's Expressions. A total homerun! They were so attentive from the beginning to end of the process. Our menu was well thought out and executed fantastically well. Bonny Opper was our point-of-contact throughout the planning and offered great advice. The team had an excellent understanding of the space and how best to utilize it. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the food and high quality service. The tables were set beautifully and well-maintained throughout the evening. My husband is a chef and had very high expectations, which were more than exceeded. We unequivocally recommend them.
Florist: Michael Anthony. Amazing! He had a strong vision for the room and did the set up for both our ceremony and reception. Michael also did the lighting and created a beautiful atmosphere, shifting the mood from the beautiful ceremony to sophisticated reception. His suggestions were spot-on and he always took into account our tastes and ideas, which he actively sought. The wedding flowers were stunning. Again, guests were blown away and raved about both the lighting and flowers. We'd particularly recommend him if you are using the Peabody Library as he has permission to stage lighting from the upper levels. He also created our place cards and found our linens. He has an incredible eye for color and honestly created a vision beyond our wildest dreams.
Photographer: Anne Sachs from Artful Weddings. Anne was so wonderful to work with and did a fantastic job. Our photos are so beautiful and she and her assistant Olivier captured so many special moments. They were unobtrusive and kind. They took fantastic photos and blended into their surroundings rather than dominating them. They were flexible when a very rainy day necessitated some changes in plan. Incredibly talented and pleasant to work with. We were thrilled.
DJ: Jason Wallace of Absolute Entertainment. Best DJ ever. Seriously. He is practically Pandora radio. He met with us several times to get a sense of our tastes and captured our personalities perfectly. From the ceremony, to cocktail hour, dinner music, and reception, he created exactly the vibe we wanted at every stage. Our dance floor was full the entire night up until the last song. Guests were blown away by his work and repeatedly commented on what a great job he did.
Gown: Francesca's Bridal. I was happy with my experience and loved my dress. Brittany was wonderful to work with and supportive through the process. I ended up needing a lot of alterations and they were helpful. I'd also recommend you check out their headpieces as the veils were lovely and relatively reasonably priced.
Hair: Alpha Studio in Fells Point. Colleen did my hair and it was beautiful and held up through heavy rains and agressive dancing. She was very patient and worked with me through two hair trials. Lisa did my makeup and it held up just as well. The whole bridal party looked great and were happy with the experience.
Venue: Peabody Library. Obviously the space is stunning and after all was said and done we loved having our wedding there and would do it again. We will say that it was difficult to get a hold of staff as they seem to be in only on Mondays. You have to pay extra money if you want photographs in the hallway or stairwell. There is little space to get ready and they do not allow you to go onto upper levels for photos. You need to hire a valet service as they do not allow you to use their parking garage.
