A few questions!!!

I have a few random questions...hoping you ladies can help! Feel free to just post answers to whatever you know!! Thanks in advance!

1.) i need ideas for Non-sappy father/daughter dance songs? My dad is not the sentimental type so something like "You raise me up" by josh groban wouldn't fit for us!

2.) I am looking for a cheap DJ....just someone to play music and make announcements. We aren't really the "clubbing" type so we dont need 12 speakers and a light show! ;)

3.) Does anyone know where to find cheap plastic napkin rings or know of a simple DIY napkin ring?

Re: A few questions!!!

  • 1. Stevie Wonder- You are the sunshine of my life
James Taylor- How sweet it is (to be loved by you)
    Rod Stewart- Forever Young
Ingrid Michaelson- The Way I am

    2. Buckeye Entertainment- $475 for 5 hours

    3. I am doing some cute pomander type napkin rings.
    It's the bottom tutorial.

    HTH! GL!

  • I don't have any suggest for F/D dance

But, I am using Pete with Midwest DJ pro. Very nice and very reasonable. I believe its like $600.
  • My dad and I danced to I Loved her First by Heartland.  I sent to my parents to see what they thought and they both cried so I knew it was a keeper!

  • 1) How about that song that plays at the end of Knocked Up?  LINK
    2) I second Buckeye Entertainment - Byron is great!
    3) Oriental Trading has paper ones.  You could also try Flower Factory?  I also wonder if you could find bangle bracelets for girls, those might be about the right size...

  • We are doing buckeye entertainment, have not idea what father daughter dance, and I would say you could do ribbon (that is pretty simple and cheap)
  • I've heard great reviews for B.E but they booked up pretty fast and i didnt have the money to book right away Undecided I have been thinking I'll probably do ribbons but I will definitely check out O.T because they are so reasonable on everything!
  • I am no help on the others, but check out Young entertainment. They are doing my wedding for a song, but I have known Terry for almost 20 years! That said, after nearly 20 years of club dj-ing, he started his own dj company and is pretty reasonable as they are starting out.

  • 1. My dad and I danced to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," which isn't sappy or about a relationship.

    2. We used Jodi from Night Music and thought she was wonderful and the pricing was reasonable.

    3. Check out some of the home decor or cookware/kitchen stores now or mid-summer. Right now they are having sales on past season's items to make room for the next one, and they will have sales again in the summer to make room for the fall merchandise. Go into the stores as well as look online, because the stores often have more on sale than what you can see on the website. Also check out Home Goods. They usually have inexpensive kitchen and dining accessories.
