Just wondering where everyone went dress shopping and bought their dress from. I will be going in March but want to make appointments and am looking for suggestions on customer service, etc.
I ended up ordering my gown from an online retailer ( a legit one lol) but I did shop around town, too. I highly recommend Debi's at the North Star location, the IH-10 Alfred Angelo location, and Mayfair bridal (at 410 and Broadway.)
I bought my dress from a David's bridal in Austin while I was visiting some family. I went to the one here in SA on 410 near Evans to look at some cap sleeves and the ladies there weren't helpful at all. I asked her if I could try on my style of dress with the sleeves to get an idea of what it would look like and I literally had to find the dress on the rack myself and it was a size 18. I asked her if she had any smaller and she told me no. They only had one other person trying on dresses while I was there. It wasn't like they were busy. There were other issues, but it would take a while to explain. Needless to say, I was furious by the time I left.
I bought my dress at the David's in Missouri City. I did not have a good experience at the one near North Star Mall. Like niknik said, they were unprofessional to say the least and not at all helpful.
I have heard decent things about the Alfred Angelo that is right there.
I got my dress at the Davids near Ingram mall and the lady was WONDERFUL. She was very nice and helpful. She also gave me and my bm her full attention. I have also been to the northstar location... NOT GOOD lol

I bought at Davids across from Northstar. No appointment, during the week and I had her full attention. Consultant nailed it on the first dress. I told her my vision and I bought the first dress she pulled... best part was it was $950 dress on sale for $399.
I bought my dress from Signature Bridal Salon in Austin. I tired several David's Bridals (including some in SA), called around to the other ones listed and I received horrible service. I did a lot of research online (reviews, etc) and found Signature. I had the BEST service ever!! I absolutely love these ladies. They helped make my shopping experience perfect. My mom flew in for only one weekend so we were on a time crunch. The consultant was the sweetest person and helped me so much. I am so excited to go back for my alterations!! Best of luck
I have my first appointments this weekend at Mayfair Bridal and Bridal Salon of SA (Broadway & Hildebrand). I also have a couple of appointments in Houston. If I have no luck there, I will make appointments with Debi's Bridal, Bridal Connection (in Rolling Oaks Mall), and Bridal Galleria (on San Pedro).
I went to Debi's bridal and the owner is very nice however the girl, yes girl wasn't too helpful. I found one dress however it wasn't the One. David's bridal the saleswoman was nice and helpful however the dress wasn't for me. As far a the service there I agree Alfred Angelo and Davids the service isn't personal and not really indivual but it you might find better luck. Ultimately I went to Mayfair and Jasmine is the only one I deal with. The owner is really nice but the other two saleswomen who knows. One seems a bit stuck up and if you aren't a size 8 or smaller she wouldn't waste her time on you helping find a dress. The other lady to be honest haven't interacted with much-I think she is new. I also went to San Antonio Bridal Salon -Broadway to find some accessories and Amy is super nice-I hope not its not bc I went in 15 min to closing and bought a beautiful -super expensive balero jacket. But she did inquire about express shipping and offered to help me with my dress and I was able to get an early appt. In closing... really, really think about what you want your dress to look like (or you in your dress). Good Luck!
I bought my dress from Destiny Bridal and Maria was AMAZING. I didn't have an appointment the first time I went in and they still meet with me and let me try on several dresses (ended up being there for almost 2 hours). I set a follow-up appointment and ended up spending an additional couple of hours there and found "the one"! I highly recommend giving them a try.
