Brides in buffalo

have you heard any reviews on "Hamlin house"? I'm a budget bride and this is well within my budget but if they do not provide good service I rather go with something pricier.

Thanks in advance

my cousin is having her wedding there, its a nice place very vintage. kinda like a blank canvas so you can really do whatever there with decor. nice size room too, however dont know whar the food tastes like.

I would be concerned with parking. Their lot MIGHT accommodate your older guests. Might. Otherwise it's street parking and possibly a lot somewhere down the street.

  • I'll keep looking. I seen the ramada inn was decently priced but again reviews needed.

FI and I looked at Ramada.  They were very nice, but we were doing our ceremony there too, and the room they had was very ugly (their outdoor gazebo was nice, but it would be too cold in November to be outside).  Their ballroom didn't look that nice the first time we were there, but I went back when it was set up for a wedding and it was a lot better, so if you haven't looked at them yet, make sure you look at it when it is set up for a wedding.  They also had "extras" that you could borrow for free that previous brides have left.

If I remember correctly, the Hilton Garden Inn by the airport and the Millennium Hotel in Cheektowaga had similar prices to Ramada.  We went with Millennium and they are amazing to work with.  Everything we ask they say yes, other places told us "we just don't do it that way" and wouldn't change anything for us, including Ramada.
  • Wow! I keep hearing great things about millennium. By any chance do u have their brochure in email?

When we were looking some of the more reasonably priced places were Ripas in Lancaster - the room was a good size (we are expecting about 250 people) and we stayed to eat at the restaurant and the food was good. The manager there also seemed willing to negotiate.

Also, I really liked Ilio DiPaolo's they didn't have enough space in the restaurant, but they cater to 2 outisde locations and offer everything they would at the restaurant, but with a ceremony at my family church in Lockport driving to Blasdell after was too far.

Our wedding is going to be at the Rapids Theater in Niagara Falls which a GREAT venue, different than a traditional venue (Like Hamlin House). We went with them because we liked the unique aspect, but Ripas and IIlio's were our other top picks.

I've heard great things about Millenium too - it was recommended to me and one of my cousins got married there. It's a little non-traditional in that they host your cocktail hour in the 'atrium' or hotel lobby, which is like an indoor garden.

  • Rosa did rapids theatre give you their pavkages via email? I emailed them but haven't received a response? Would you be able to send me the prices via email or pm?

Sorry, I don't have their brochure in an email.

PP, I think you mistyped that, the atrium is not the hotel lobby.  The lobby is the area by the door with the reception desk where guests check in, the atrium is the courtyard area with the pool.  Guests will have to walk through the lobby to get from the cocktail hour to the reception though, so maybe that's what you meant?

Our cocktail hour is in the atrium, as is our ceremony, but we could have had the cocktail hour in the ballroom with the reception if we wanted it there.  I love the way the courtyard looks at night with the lights they have so that's why we had the cocktail hour there.

If it wouldn't have been ridiculous to try to set up, we would have done the entire reception in there, but I didn't want them to tear down from the ceremony and set up for the reception while our guests were in the room.
