Ideally, what do you want in a photo package?

10 hours of coverage?
Second shooter?
Proofs?
Album?
etc.

I just want to make sure I get all of the pictures that I need and I'm willing to spend about $3,000 on a good photographer, but don't want to skimp at the cost of missing photos.

I loved my photographer...she was amazing.  Her wedding package included up to 10 hours of coverage, $200 credit towards ordering stuff from her site, an engagement session (we live across the country, so she gave us an additional $250 credit instead) a high res dvd of all the pictures (so we can make prints/email them, ect), an 11"x14" portrait and our pictures on her website for 2 months.
I didn't really want a second photographer, but we could have used some of the credit towards one.
I think the 10 hour coverage is a huge plus...we didn't have to worry about trying to arrange and squish our schedule into 6 hours in order to get pictures.
I would also suggest making sure you talk to/meet with potential photographers before you book one.  You want to make sure he/she is someone you will enjoy, or at least not mind, having around on your wedding day.

Adequate hours of coverage, hi-res digital files, and a great personality were a must for me.

    - good personality (easy to work with)
    - 8-10 hrs coverage
    - second shooter
    - engagement session w/ 3 prints
    - all pics on high res DVD (w/ copyright)
    - nice coffee table book (for us)
    - parent books
    - slideshow at the wedding on iMac of getting ready pics (will just be on a table)
    - online slideshow of wedding pics
    - online gallery to allow everyone to see the pics

Top things are the high res images with copyright, personality, second shooter and 8-10 hrs coverage.  I'd never go without those 4 things.

Rights to all photos was the most important thing to us, along with a second shooter and 8 hours of coverage.  We ended up getting an album for ourselves and then I just made albums for our parents.
