Vegas Advice!

I'm leaving for my honeymoon in 8 Days!!! We are staying at the MGM Monday - Friday. Any last advice??? Where to eat? Can't miss attractions?? I've never been...FI went once forever ago.... I want to print out everyone's responses and take them with us!

Keep this in mind... We are trying to keep it as cheap as possible! lol Of course we will splurge here and there, it's our Honeymoon! So which not so cheap reastaurants or events should we splurge on? Best cheap deals? Best steak in Vegas? lol FI's favorite

Our favorite place to eat in Vegas was Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill in Caesar's Palace...it's delicious! If you've never been to a Cirque de Soliel show, you should go to one of those as well, they are amazing! We went to Ka, which is actually in your hotel, it was fabulous!

Definitely eat at D!cks Last Resort (theknot wont let me write the word! LOL) in The Excalibur!!!!!
It is a HYSTERICAL dining experience! I don't want to tell you too much what to expect, but just know that the wait staff is SUPPOSED to be rude and crass.... its part of the act, but seriously ~ you will be laughing so hard you will find it hard to eat!

Also there is a really fun bar in Mandalay Bay thats entirely in ice! Its called Five Below and its such a fun experience! You have to wear these heavy coats & EVERYTHING in there is made of ice... the bars, the seats, the glasses.... its pretty unique!

I just came back from Vegas! I am so mad I missed the Ice Bar!! For OP you can ride the eiffel tower to the top and look out over the strip, very romantic. Also, the best seafood buffet, if you are into it is at the RIO, which I believe should be close to the MGM. On the top of the stratosphere, there are very extreme rides, if you are into that type of a thing. Have a great time!

You have to go to the buffet at the Bellagio...it is amazing. Also, go to the Eiffel Tower Restaurant. It is very romantic. Call ahead and get a seat by the window so you can see the Bellagio water show. I agree with seeing a Cirque de Solei show..I have seen two and they are amazing! Maybe see Zumanity...its a bit risque, afterall it is your honeymoon!

I second the D!cks! So much fun!!! And if you like drinking - they have $1 jello shots! We had a blast there!

Also istead of just the seafood buffet in Rio you might want to go to the regular one. They have 12 different stations with foods from all over (one of the stations is seafood with crab and sushi). Although both buffets are great.

There is also this show at the excalibur called the tournament of kings and it is awesome! You will have lots of fun and the good thing about is very reasonable prices with dinner included!!!

Another thing we enjoyed going to was The Bodies excebition at Luxor!!! It was amazing!!! I am the kind of person that gets grossed out really easy, and I didn't want to go at first, but FI talked me into it and I enjpyed it very much.

As far as FREE stuff there is ton of that around too: Belagio fountains, Treasure Island pirate show, laser show, lions terraruim (I believe it is in MGM), there is a really cool sky ceiling (at the venetian I thnk), and live flamingos at the Flamingo just to name a few. You should google free things in vegas and you will be amazed at how much stuff comes up.

And one last thing that you might find helpfull that will help to save money and allow you to see some great attractions is the Vegas Power Pass:

You might be able to find it a little cheaper on other sites, but I think this thing is amazing!!!

If you are into it, there is a show at Luxor called "Fantasy"... it's very sexy, very hot! Would be fun to watch with your new hubby on your honeymoon! We got our tickets at one of the discount ticket places on the strip. Saved money!

I love the Hofbrau House Las Vegas. Awesome beer hall atmosphere, and it's right across from Hard Rock.

You can't got wrong with any of the restaurants and bars at Mandalay Bay.

I'd stay away from eating at the cheaper restaurants at the resorts on the strip - they just aren't that good. There's a In 'n' Out burger nearby though. ;-)

For a splurge night, look into the restaurant at the top of the Stratosphere. It rotates and the views are gorgeous.

MH and I love going to Vegas! For a little more of a splurge I would check out the restaurant in the Eiffel Tower at Paris. We ate there for his Birthday last year and it was amazing. We loved the scenery too. We also liked Joe's Stone Crab in Caesar's and Emeril's Fish House in the MGM.

We got engaged in Vegas at dinner, and I cannot rave enough about Alex Stratta's restaurant called Alex at the Wynn. It was by far the best meal I've enjoyed so far. It is expensive, though. You'll want to set aside about $500 or so, plus more if you want drinks.

there are several kiosks on the strip called "tix for tonite" you can get last minute discount show and exhibit tickets. we got discounted tickets for the Bodies exhibit, as well as the burlesque show at the MGM. its worth a look if you want to save a little money.

I think tickets up to the Eiffel tower are about $15, but I think they're worth it. You can see the Bellagio water show from there.

splurge to eat at the top of the world at the stratosphere, reserve at sunset or at night and you get to see a lot of vegas's lights, it revolves around the tower very slowly. Their key lime pie martini is really good, so is their prime rib. But they are pricy I think they have the prices listed on their website.

BF and I were there last year for a friends wedding and we went to see Phantom of the Opera. If you like that kind of stuff, it is a REALLY good show. I want to check out one of the Cirque shows next time we go together.

I loved Minus 5 too. It was really fun to go hang out in there, and those parkas are surprisingly warm. It's $30 to get in, but that includes all the coat rental plus one drink. You can buy more in there, but they are like $12 a piece. We ended up walking by there and they were handing out coupons for another free drink, so we actually got 2 for the $30. The pic below is of me and some of my friends that went there last year. Everything is ice (except the floor) and they have bearskin rugs over the benches to insulate it for you to sit down.

DH and I just got back from a mini-moon in Vegas! We had a blast and kept it cheap! DH went to Vegas for his bach party, joined the player's club at the Venetian, played in a poker tourney, and got 3 comp nights at the Palazzo! It was so nice.

- The gondola ride is not $64 pp. It is $16 pp or $64 total if you want a private gondola. We didn't want to splurge on a private, so we payed $32 for both of us. There were other kids in line, but the staff was great about putting couples with couples and kids with other families. I think they want it to be as romantic experience as possible. $32 is expensive for 20 mins of entertainment, but it was worth it. It was so romantic.

- Take the cab from the airport to MGM and say "no freeway". Cabbies try to take the freeway from the airport because it is faster, but more expensive because it's more miles. In the back of the cab there will be coupon books, which contain a BOGO coupon for the eiffel tower

- You can walk to the RIO, but it involves crossing the freeway. There is a free shuttle that runs from Bally's to the RIO.

- We liked Casino Royale for cheap gambling. It's not as refined as some of the other places, but the tables have a $3 minimum.

- We hung out at the Paris a lot. I highly recommend the creperie in the shops....so delicious!

- We bought the 3 day monorail pass. I wouldn't recommend it for everyone because it is a bit expensive, but for us it was better than walking up and down the strip and cheaper than cabs.

- Take lots and lots and lots of singles. Everyone is looking for a tip. Also it is very hot walking up and down the strip, and the cheapest water is the people on the sidewalk selling $1 water bottles. It's kind of hard to find water in Vegas without paying an arm and a leg. The Venetian and the Palazzo only sell Fiji water, no tap, no fountains, so it gets really expensive.

- My favorite romantic thing that we did was get dressed up one night, went to the hypnotist at Paris, then walked through the Bellagio, Caesar's Palace and the nicer casinos.

- I loved the 32 degree bar at the MGM near the monorail. It was a bit pricey, but the frozen drinks were soooo good!

- One thing that we wanted to do, but ran out of time was one of the television show previews at MGM. The shows vary, but you can watch pilots or potential episodes of tv shows and rate them. We like to watch tv, so we were thinking that it would be a good half hour out of the sun for free.

Have a blast! I loved walking through the MGM. It was one of the trendier casinos.
