Affordable Flowers?

Im struggling to find a way to do affordable flowers. I am only doing bouts & bouquets, not any floral centerpieces. It just seems silly to me to send a few hundred on one bouquet that I use just to hold to walk down the aisle.  Any suggestions????

I didn't end up doing this idea - but almost did.  I saw on some wedding show that the bride used a "circle of friends bouquet" or something like that.  She gave a cut flower to each friend or close person that has had an immediate/important impact on her life.  During the ceremony they all got up and gave her the flowers to make a beautiful bouquet of fresh cut flowers.  The bouquet was gorgeous and meaningful and affordable. I think she tied it with a ribbon from her mother's wedding gown or something like that....

You could also order the flowers yourself and make a bouquet on your own.  You could have your bridesmaids carry something other than flowers - like a fan, or a parasol or a cute clutch....just some ideas.  good luck!

A few hundred for one bouquet or all the bouquets? I think my bouquet was around $100 and my bridesmaids bouquets were a lot less expensive. You don't need to spend a few hundred on just your bouquet. Get price quotes from your area and see what they can come up with within your budget. It also depends significantly on what flowers you're looking for, since obviously some flowers are more expensive than others. A good florist will be able to work with your budget and provide you suggestions with flowers that aren't too expensive. If you're in the Falmouth area at all, I'd highly recommend Hobart's Florals (Sue Hobart).

I'm using Karen Bryden from Petals by the Sea and I'm really happy with her prices. I think my bouquet was just a little over 100 and I know the BMs were under. She has been very good with working in our budget.

Personally, while I don't care THAT much about floewrs, it also wasn't something I wanted to worry about doing myself the day before.

I highly recommend Meredith Fancy with Fancy Flowers. She doesn't have a minimum payment so you can literally pick and choose what you want and she's been doing this for many many years.

I second the choice of Petals by the Sea, Karen Bryden!!!
She's great to work with and is a very reasonably priced florist who has been in the wedding business over 30 years.  She is a Planner too with lots of vendor references!
She will be doing my flowers in 2012 as I have already booked her as she only takes on 1 ....maybe 2 weddings a weekend.
    Her # is 508-360-3054
She is located in Hyannis and travels from Orleans to Bourne
    Best Wishes!!!  AlexandraCool

We ordered all our flowers from fiftyflowers.com. We were able to get all the flowers for the bouquets, bouts, and centerpieces for $188.
So if you're up for a little challenge of DIY-ing it, I definitely recommend them!!

I am using Karen for my wedding in June, I met with her and she was lovely. Her prices were very reasonable and she is willing to work within your budget! I am not doing floral centerpieces either and she still made me feel as if my (on the smaller scale) flower order was just as important to an enormous one! GOOD LUCK! :)

I too, had only bouts and moms corsages.....so what i did for me and my MOH was have a bunch of long stemmed blush pink calla lillies.  they were absoltely beautiful!  - i got them from All About Flowers For Weddings.  Judy Fligg was soooooo nice !  I had an arbor on the beach w/ two containers and she made them all POP with color.  Hydrangea, Calla Lilly, Ornamental Grass, and Hot Pink Gerber Daisy! It was stunning !   and the best part?  it was affordable!      Good Luck!

    Hi,

I second the Stop and Shop idea.  I went to the Harwich one for my bouquet and several corsages and bout.... they did a GREAT job- far exceeded my expectations.  The floral manager (Maria) was wonderful to work with and the prices were affordable.  Only thing is they don't deliver, but that was not a problem for us.

What kind of flowers did you choose from Stop and Shop?  Can I ask how much the price was per bout and coursage?

    Thank You!
