Venue Ideas??

I'm getting married next February and I'm looking for a local venue to do both the ceremony and reception. I'm not looking to spend much money, but I'd love to do the beach or something outside. I'm expecting about 75 people. Any ideas? Right now I'm loving Pelican Grande, but it's slightly out of my price range. I'd love to stay under 8K (the closer to 6, the better). All ideas are welcome!

Before I moved my wedding to Orlando we were getting marriedat the Palm Beach Zoo! It's a really fun, unique location-- I promise!

I was getting ceremony (including chairs), buffet reception for 65 people, a wedding coordinator, and setup for $5k.

    Just an option! Welcome!

  • I'm actually getting married at the Pelican next May :D I checked out 5 other venues in the beach an there all pretty much pricey if you go through a hotel .... You could always check out a sea side wedding ... Also if you'd be ok with intra coastal there's a place in Deerfield tht was beautiful Royal Fiesta they had some decent packages. Definitely keep searching the knot had some good recommendations & wedding wire has been useful
  • amen to the pelican .... were getting married there also in april ... EEEEKKKK getting close .... we have about 75-85 people coming and they are ALLLLLLL from out of town ... we alwyas wanted the beach style weddnig ... so we took a day and went to EVERY place on fort lauderdale and hollywood beaches ... once we saw the pelican grand ... there was no turning back .... that view from the 11th floor is BREATHTAKING ...

  • Thank you all! All your'e doing is making me want to make Pelican work! :) It is beautiful. And it's doable with a brunch... I'll keep looking. Thanks for the suggestions. I will definitely look into them!
  • We just booked B Ocean right down the street. About 80 days out we canceled our old venue and B Ocean was the first place we fell in love with. Pelican Grande is beautiful but B Ocean was more our style. Our budget is about the same and we are doing a lunch (ceremony at 3 and reception from 3:30-7:30). The ocean view will be gorgeous at that time with either place so go for a lunch :) HTH!

  • The Spanish River Library.  Its obviously not beachy but it is outdoors on a lake and very affordable!

  • Try the Double Tree in Sunny Isles. We orginally wanted a beach wedding but it was over our budget and I didnt want to change from an evening wedding. We ended up going with Bonaventure Country Club  but my second choice was the Double Tree.

  • I'm already planning to renew my vows in 5 yrs at the Pelican Grand LOL, and I'm not even married yet!! I absolutely love that place! Isn't it so weird how there really arent a lot of beach areas to get married besides hotels???! :-/

FYI I heard awful things about B Ocean and their service. Supposedly they are very accomodating.

My husband and I were contemplating Bocean because it looked beautiful on the site. Unfortunately, we no longer live in Florida, so we have not been able to see it in person. Could you possibly PM and let me know about there pricing and what they provide? Thank you so much!
