Favor Ideas

I was looking for some favor ideas. I already know I am going to put the placecards in a frame for everyone to take home. I also wanted 1 or 2 other favors. I was thinking some kind of candy with our colors (light blue and purple) but I am not sure. Something not too expensive. We are inviting about 150 people. Any ideas would be great. Thanks!

Jillian- we are making homemade Buckeyes and putting them in favor boxes with our color ribbon and our monogram. My FI went to OSU, so we thought it was fitting :) His grooms cake will be the O and we will have buckeyes on it where the leaves are too. We are making them ourselves and I bought the favor boxes at Hollo's. It's really inexpensive but it will be such a yummy treat for guests! Hope that helps you out!

I definitely vote for edible.  You could do m&m's in your colors or just tie ribbons in your colors around favor boxes.  No offense, but I never know what to do with those tiny picture frames.  I usually just leave them at the reception or immediately give them to Goodwill, because what do you do with a teeny tiny frame?  I'd suggest spending money on something your guests can eat.

Our colors were periwinkle and yellow. We used Easter m&m's (mix of pink, lavendar, lt blue, lt green, yellow, IIRC) as our favors. Cheap! We bought something like 30 bags at the grocery stores. And, tasty, too. M&m's last a long time (usually a year from purchase). Also, I believe Hershey's does some pastel-foil wrapped kisses at Easter. Check out other Easter-wrapped candies, too.

My colors were dark blue (think sapphire) and silver.  We used M&Ms ordered from the M&Ms website.  Because we weren't getting any words or pictures on them, they actually weren't expensive - cheaper than buying the single colors at party stores!  I totally agree with the pp in that M&Ms last a super long time.  I still have some left over and they still taste great!

I just wrapped them in some tulle tied with ribbon.  I also tied a monogram onto the ribbon.  They came out very nice, didn't take long to make and everyone loved them!  :)

We are using the hershey's mixed mini candy bars and bought personalized labels thru the knot.  We will probably put 3 in a bag and we are also making chocolate hearts ( bought molds and pink foil to wrap them in since thats our color) and will place a few in a bag as well..I am making tags with our names and wedding date to tie to the bag with a ribbon (bags are cheap, bought them at Cakes by Nadine.)

    Hope this helps :)

What about silk hand fans?  Our wedding is in late june and i'm guessing it will be hot even though we are inside.  We just ordered ours on the knot because they are,or were, on sale. I think they will look nice open a little on the table to add some color.  Just a thought!

Similar to the Buckeyes, I'm making (or possibly having them made by a baker) cookies in the shape of clouds and writing something like "We're on Cloud 9" because we're both meteorologists. You could find a cute cookie cutter that represents something about you and make it cute!  I also liked the idea of giving tea/tea leaves and the "Love is Brewing" favor theme!

    Love it!  Very cute.
Especially if you are both big coffee lovers, beer/wine/tea/cookies/whatever lovers to incorporate that into the favors, and still have them be something the guests will eat/use.  We did chocolate covered pretzels.

My friend had a bunch of us help dip mini pretzels in chocolate and packaged them in cute little chinese take out boxes in her colors. They were yummy and cute. I also had chocolate covered oreos and added our initials in icing in our wedding colors.

I prefer edible favors over any little trinkets as well since I often get too many and no need for them. I know you are looking for another favor but it isn't completely necessary to have 2 or 3 favors. 1 is plenty and less work!
