My, my it feels like forever since I've posted! I've been so busy with so many wonderful things.
First, the weekend of the 5th and 6th, I had my bachelorette party (while FI was also away on his bachelor party). The first night I went bowling with my family, mom, sister aunts cousins etc. We had so much fun having a girls night out bowling, dancing, laughing.... Then the second night I took the train into NYC with my sister and cousin and met some girlfriends there. So much fun!
This weekend my mom and sister surprised me with my bridal shower! I was SHOCKED! I was convinced it was going to be labor day weekend, and man can they keep a secret! My mom's birthday was on monday so they told me that Saturday we'd be going out to dinner to TGIFridays. FI and I were supposed to meet everyone at my parents house and then go from there. Well when we showed up to my parents house, they took me into the backyard to "tell mommy we're here" and "SURPRISE!!!" They had rented tents and tables and my mom cooked SO much food, and my sister baked cakes and cookies and everything. We were SO blessed with so many gifts. Everyone was so generous! I've started writing my thank you cards already- I have so many to do!
Then Sunday one of my girlfriends married the love of her life in a beautiful ceremony and the wedding was so much fun (and it was so cool to see how it will all play out for us in only a little over a month!).
Then Monday- FI and I went to town hall to get our marriage license. The lady asked me "Do you plan to take your husband's name?" and I got SO excited!!! OF COURSE I will be taking his name! I can't wait!! After that we went and used up the gift cards we got for the shower and bought some more things off the registry that we hadn't got.
52 days left, RSVP deadline Sept 1.... everything is coming up so fast, and I'm so excited!!
