His and Hers Rings

My fiance bought me a beautiful engagement ring and the wedding band. They have white gold bands.
Now we need to shop for his ring and he says that he wants a yellow gold band. Would it look bad if our wedding bands don't match?

Only if you think it looks bad. Having matching rings was really important to me, but I'm finding I'm in the minority on that.

If you want a compromise, a lot of shops can special-order any particular band in any color of gold -- so you could get the same design in white and yellow.

Just remember that HE has to wear it. If he likes yellow and that is what he bought you would you wear it even though you don't like it? If not then why should he?

I agree with antimony - they can match without being the same. Instead of color, look for a similar shape, style or finish. I personally like the idea of the rings going together since they are a symbol of our union, but we both have to be comfortable wearing them.

I don't think the rings need to match. I think since he has to wear it "for as long as you both shall live", then he needs to like his ring.

We don't have matching rings. My e-ring and wedding band (Which, actually also don't really "match") are white gold, DH's ring is Titanium. We're both very happy with our rings ... and nobody thinks it's "weird".
