Vendor Reviews!! PIP!

I'm back as a Mrs and have a few vendor reviews!!

Spa At Noriwch Inn: A

The wedding itself was absolutely AMAZING. They set everything us for up (except chair covers... I'll get to that later) and H and I were catered to the entire time. We had a coordinator and a personal waitress who got us everything we needed. I felt comfortable enough to tell her I was expecting (not everyone knows yet) and she made it a point to make sure I had plenty of water, ginger ale, and juices all night. The venue was gorgeous and everyone enjoyed themselves.

The reason for bumping down from an A+ was the communication in the weeks leading up to the wedding. The coordinator, Jill, didn't get in touch with me about final head counts on her own. Wednesday afternoon before the wedding I emailed her to ask when she needed the final numbers, and to ask her how to send the seating chart. She emailed me that night and said, “Today or first thing tomorrow.” This obviously caused me some stress, but it worked out okay. Another examples would be chair covers. Jill didn’t tell us until Thursday before the wedding that we were responsible for steaming and setting up the covers ourself, even though she told us, “we will take care of everything for you” at our tasting.

Starry Nite Entertainment (Tom): B-

Tom’s price was good, and reviews were also positive. We met with him the week before the wedding and felt really good. He had us fill out a packet of information about the wedding and provide him with a song list. We had trouble making a song list, because we just wanted him to use his skills as a professional DJ to keep the dance floor full. He insisted on a list, and we created one while we met. He basically said songs and we said yes or no to them. He was very flexible in allowing us to mix our own entrance song, which was nice. We’re giving him a B- because we weren’t really as impressed the day of the wedding. The guests seemed to enjoy themselves, and H and I did, but the dance floor was far from crowded and there was more than 1 occasion when almost everyone left the dance floor. 

Photographer Richard Espisito: A+ so far

Richard was great to work with before and during the wedding. We were very comfortable with him, but a more in depth review will come when we see our photos Here's a sneak peak!

Felicia’s Sweetface Pastry Shop: A+++

We originally went to Donna’s Cakes and had a bad experience. She rushed our appointment, felt very condescending, and the cake wasn’t very good. We went to Felicia’s after Donna’s. The cake was AMAZING, Felicia was incredibly friendly, and we got more cake for our money. We only had to meet with Felicia once and the cake arrived beautiful and delicious on our wedding day!

LeFrancois Florist: A++

Joanne was amazing from the start. She asked for our budget and really provided great flowers within our budget ($600!) She worked with what I had in mind, adding her professional opinion in an appropriate and friendly manner. She let us change things around the week before the wedding and had GREAT communication!

Make-up: Arnee Dodd: A+

Arnee is out of Branford (message me if you want her contact information). She was a great vendor to work with! She came to my house to do a trial, which I loved. The week before the wedding I completely changed the look I wanted, and she worked with me to make it exactly perfect! The day of the wedding I felt like a million dollars. It was incredible. She did my mother’s make up as well. My mom looked incredible!!

Hair: Christine: A+

Christine did my hair, 3 BMs, and both mothers. She traveled to my wedding and was great to work with! When the girls didn’t know what they wanted, Christine was able to look at their dresses and whip up something wonderful. Two of us used extensions, and she worked really well with those! Again, contact me for her information-- recommended!!
