  Was this a Chinese Knock-Off wedding dress site by any chance?  Those almost always have attrocious spelling, grammar, and usage problems.  In fact, it's how most people know that a site is run by a disreputable company.   

  
  

  Any legitimate vendors who think that people overlook these mistakes are kidding themselves. People probably think they are scam sites!     This is definitely a good lesson for your students.

  ITA! I disregarded one photographer whose work I loved because her website was so full of errors that I wonder how she made it through the university she supposedly attended.

  Yeah, DH and I have been looking into getting a few pictures taken (we've never had professional pictures), and one photographer said she would get back to me 'Tamaro'. . . WTF is that?!

  My brother is one of these people. I beg him to let me proof-read his stuff and he's convinced that I'm the only person on the planet who notices things like that. That's right, I bought enough copies of Eats, Shoots and Leaves to put it on the NY Times Bestseller list.

  Ha! I have that book as required reading for my graduate students (who also never seemed to have learned their asses from their apostrophes). I regularly take pictures of signs and billboards to point out the poor punctuation. I'll have to get some of those adhesive apostrophes! Right now I'm so tempted to walk around with large bottles of white-out! :-)
