Favor tag wording, need help please

Hi, new here and need help for how to word the  card that will be attached to our reception favors.
We are having a caricature artist draw pictures for all the guests.  Their pictures will go into clear plastic protectors to help keep clean during reception and to get home.  We are putting tags on them and want to come up with some creative wording that fits this type of favor.
Any ideas?
Any suggestions would be really appreciated....we are at a total brain block on this one.

Re: Favor tag wording, need help please

  • Thank-you cards don't make very good "favors" from what I've seen.  Guests don't receive them well.  Favors aren't necessary at all.

Just be aware that this doesn't exempt you from having to send thank-you notes for gifts and special favors after the wedding, and it doesn't exempt you from having to greet all your guests at the ceremony, no matter how "creative" you word them.

So I'd eliminate the favors, send nicely worded thank-you notes for gifts, and be sure to greet your guests at the wedding.  You don't have to send forever with each one, just long enough to welcome them warmly.
  • wait-the thank you notes you want to include with the pictures won't take place of the REAL thank you cards you'll send after the wedding right? I assume you just mean sometjhing like 'thank you for sharing our day' or something along those lines?

I'm confused. The thank you card isn't the favor. She said a caricature artist is drawing pictures of everyone. That's the favor.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • I think you should skip the favors as well. Most guests don't care about them, don't want them and wont ever use them. The idea you have is alright, but for me personally, I would skip having my picture drawn- what would I do with it? If you do want a favour, I would maybe go with something edible- I feel you can't go wrong with chocolates... but that's just me.

I think the $$ that you would have spent doing the favour could be spent elsewhere either on your wedding or donating to a charity.

If you want include a 'thank you" message on the favour, I would just say "thank you love B & G" and that's it. You do not need some well thought out creative message.

    You are clever! Great idea!
  • I didn't ask for opinions as to whether or not to have favors.  I have already scheduled an artist to draw caracatures for our guests.  It will be a favor for the guests to take home as well as entertainment for them during cocktail hour and after dinner.
These are NOT in place of the proper Thank You notes to send to each guests afterwards.
I asked for some ideas to help us be creative with a phrase to put on the cards attached to these favors.
Example :  A unique creation of cartoon art
Our thanks to you from the heart

Or, like the suggestion made by NYCMercedes and Emanoms made above.
Thank you ladies for your suggestions....they are helpful...we are more on our way to coming up with the perfect phrase that sounds like us, that fits...but the suggestions so far are great...and on the right track.
Would love some more ideas if any more of you can help me with my brainstorming.
    Thanks!!

Look, you titled your thread "Favor Thank you card wording," so that's what gave the idea that you do want to use them to say "thank you."  If that's not what you have in mind with these cards, I would have titled this thread differently.  I can't read your mind and neither can anyone else here.  You're also going to get opinions about things you may not have specifically asked for simply by the act of posting.  You don't have the right to tell anyone what to or not to say in their posts.

That said, if all you want is wording for these cards, there are some good ideas upthread.

I wasn't saying anyone should or shouldn't say something particular in their post, simply attempting to clarify the misundertsanding that I was using this favor with a thank you tag attached as a "favor", not in place of a thank you card after the wedding.  Also, I stated "We are putting Thank You tags on them and want to come up with some creative wording that fits this type of favor."
I was looking for creative wording to put on the tag that fit with the caricature theme.  Rather than the typical "Thank you for sharing our day" or what one may use on a candy favor "Sweet of you to help make our day special" or the like.
There also seemed to be some misconception (not by you) that I was asking for an opinion about favors / thank you's and what to do or not do....that was not the case. I was only hoping someone with a more creative mind than I was having could offer some suggestions.
    For example --
A unique creation of cartoon art
Our thanks to you from the heart
Something along this line....this one is OK, but it was the best we could come up with....hoped someone would have another better suggestion.

SO, with that said, I'll stand corrected on my subject headline and should have just said "Favor tag wording help needed, please"

    thanks anyway
