HELP! Rustic Winter Wedding Venues on the East Coast??

I'm trying to find a really beautiful venue on the east coast for a winter wedding (New England, NY, etc). I'd like to book it in a place thats guaranteed to have snow sometime around January/February and has a rustic, ski-lodge type feel. I'm considering barns too, but a lot of barns I've seen in VT won't book a winter wedding. Ideally I'd like to have it at least 15-30 min away from a ski resort, if not on the resort site itself (I'm already considering Stowe). Any ideas that won't cost me an arm and a leg?? I've already had to rule out Riverside Farms, the Barn at Lang Farm, the Barn at Boyden Farms...I feel like I've exhausted so many options at this point so any new ideas would be refreshing! I've included an image as my inspiration :) THANKS!!!

  • Sleepy Hollow Ski and Bike Center in Huntington, Vermont is wonderful! That's where I am getting married this summer. www.skisleepyhollow.com - they also offer free trail and snowshoeing passes to anyone staying at the inn for winter weddings. they rent out the entire inn, round barn, and grounds for the entire weekend too! good luck!
  • With the weather this year, no one is guarenteed to have snow on the ground. Seriously, it's February 1, and it's raining rain now. How many guests will you be having? For a small venue, check out Black Bear Inn at Bolton Valley. My sister looked at them for her wedding, but ultimately went with a place in Burlington (she wasn't there for the skiing). If you're trying to keep costs low, I would avoid Stowe. It's a pricey area.
  • Mckemowse, I have a similar inquiry. I realize your wedding was mover a year ago now so I was wondering what you ended up doing for the venue? We are also looking into Stowe and what guarenteed snow for the wedding so a resort seems like the right choice.

If you wouldn't mind letting me know what you did and how it went, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thank you!
