looking at venues with parents? HELP!

My parents live in New Jersey and they're being very generous in offering paying for our reception.
but since they live 3 hours away would it be rude not to bring them to look at venues?

I'd just ask if they want to come. They might not even be up for the 3 hour trip and then a day of driving around even more. Or call them and explain that you are going to look at numerous places and if you find one or two you like you will schedule another appointment for them to come and look at it if they want to see it.

I think you should definitely include them. You could visit the venues without them at first to get an idea of your favorites and then reschedule to look at the top contenders with your parents. If they decline due to the distance then that is their choice, otherwise I think they would be happy to be involved and it will help build the excitement! HTH

I would visit venues without them then reschedule your top two or three to get their input.

OR, you could ask us experienced knotties for some recs and only schedule venus with good reviews that also fit your style.
