Invitations? Timeline?

When did you ladies send out your invites (how much in advance?) And how much time did you give them to RSVP? (obviously not everyone will follow this ha ha)!

I still need to order ours (have the design, just need them printed), but I was thinking if they go out around new years we would be ok...I hope so at least!

    I sent mine about 7 weeks before the wedding, asking for the RSVP's back by 3 weeks before (to allow for the eternally delinquent)

    We sent ours  8 weeks out I believe, and set the RSVP date 4 weeks before the wedding.  My mom was the one paying (techincally it was my dad's check book...but my mom was the one who made hte controlling decisions with the money) and was convinced 4 weeks was the absolute least time we needed to call people and get numbers to the caterer.  I think 3 weeks before the wedding is a reasonable RSVP date.
