  I am only giving gifts during my bridal shower, but if some of my BM's cant make it from far away places, then I will give it to them post or pre ceremony other than that I will provide lunch and champange for girls/fam coming to the mehndi and also will pay if they get their hands done but I wont be handing out gifts.

  I am not doing a formal mehendi ceremony - just having my bridesmaids, mom and sister over to our place to get theirs done and my own done.  I am giving them their gifts at a brunch the next morning (but also paying for their mehendi and of course we will order some food for that evening).

  we're having a mehndi brunch the day before the wedding.  We're going to give bags with a sari, blouse piece, fruit and kumkum to the aunties as per tradition where we're from, and I'm going to give my friends little bunches of bangles tied together with ribbon.  We're paying for mehndi for whomever wants it done.  I might try to put together some kind of little gift bag for my friends, depending on how much time I have!

  For my mayon/mendhi I am not giving out favours.
  However we are having a combined sangeet raat and my FMIL has suggested that we have churiyan + bindis in little mesh bags as favours for the ladies.  (Even though it's a co-ed event.)
  
  I went to this wedding last year, where they bride was guju and for one of the ceremonies she gave out mesh bags with walnuts, almonds and lindt chocolate - where the wrappers for the chocolate matched her lengha.  I thought that was a nice touch.
