New hudson valley bride to be

Hello everyone.  I am in search of a place to hold our ceremony and reception. We have a very small budget and I want to stretch it as far as we can. I have been told to look into parks where they have pavilions incase it rains and porta pottys so I wouldn't have to rent them.
Have any of you looked into or booked someplace like this?
I appreciate any help you can offer. I also am looking for a cateror for just simple food. Nothing too fancy and hopefully under or around $10 a person. I feel this is unrealistic but am hoping for the best!  Thanks!


My fiance, John and I have been together for almost 5 years now, bought a house 2 years ago and just became recently engaged mid august. We are planning a sept 2012 wedding!

    Congrats and Welcome!  

    As for venues, we're having our ceremony at Bowdoin Park in Wappinger Falls at one of the pavilions.  I don't know if you're close.  But it is covered and there is an indoor area where you could possibly set up the reception.  Just watch out for catering costs, that's what can really get ya.  Hope that helps.

    check Thomas K Bull Memorial Park in Montgomery. They have outdoor areas and a small room you can rent for DIY weddings and a cateering hall too. Dont get confused between them both! Good luck!

    We live near the new paltz area. Own a house up on the mountains and were going to do thewedding in our backyard but costs just kept adding up and up!

    Try the local Knights Og Columbus in Wappingers Falls, ny 845-2979049. You can take Pictures in Meiser Park. It has a Gazebo, It is a Treasure. My girl buddy even had her Ceremony there. She got her B ouQuets & Flowers locally Rosemary Flower Shop(www.rosemaryflowershop.com) they are local also. there is another K Of C in Fishkill n. I t is newer and larger -897-2434845. Iwent to small intimate weddings at both and the food was deliscious.
