Bridal Shower at my house?

My MOH is going to be planning my bridal shower.  I would prefer if it were in someone's home so no one is paying a bunch of money for renting someplace, and she is the only one of my friends who has a house suitable for this type of thing.  However, she lives at least 1 1/2 hours from me and my family and my mother is concerned with this.  My house would be suitable as well and is close to everyone.   I wouldn't actualy plan the party, of course I would help out though.  Would this be completely inappropriate?

Is your MOH planning to have it at someone house or does she have other plans? You stated you want it at a house, but she might have already booked a venue.

You can offer your house to her as the location, but that's about it. And I think as long as it's clear that your MOH or whoever is the host, I don't see a probably with it. Just make sure it's clearly stated on the invite and just try to stay out of the way.

I don't see anything wrong with this at all.  Your MOH would be hosting~you're just offering a venue.  And I have to say that I really prefer at-home showers over restaurant or catering hall showers.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146

I have been to multiple showers baby and wedding where the shower was hosted by someone else but at the guest of honors house and they were just fine.  For example the MOH was out of state and hosted the shower at the brides apt (the apartment they used to share together).
